The money. He's been rich since SNL yet he's only been shifting right the last 3-4 years or so. According to him, after 9/11 he had an epiphany and realized imperialism was good. Personally I think he realized he was just another left-wing comedian and a rather unfunny one at that and he knew that he would have to do something drastic to revive his career and so he shifted right and got his own TV show. Now that he realized that didn't work it'll be interesting to see what he does, with his Libertarian line, he may try to jump back on the bandwagon.

I told them that Miller shouldn't even have a show anymore because he was getting just horrible ratings. My conservative classmate asked me in a condescending manner whether Alterman could do any better.
