I had bought another "Jesus is a Liberal" bumpersticker last week and, using magnets, posted it on my car. Today I went to the bookstore to meet with some friends and noticed that it was gone.
Ok, so before I left my house I had known that it was there and then I went to the gas station, filled my car and went down the expressway to the bookstore. When I got out, I noticed that the thing was gone. Again I thought it was because of driving down the expressway but then the other two that I have would have came off too.
So now, I am mad, cause I have a feeling it was stolen, again. The first time it had happened was in Hudsonville. Before leaving my mom's house I had seen that it was gone and I thought it had fallen off on the highway but then I thought about and when I was at Subway getting a sub, somebody had probably stolen it then. And most likely since Hudsonville is a very Republican, Christian town.
You maybe wondering why I am griping about this here on DU but I gotta say something. It is really immature that people would do something like this. Doesn't the Ten Commandments tell us that 'Thou Shalt Not Steal?' After all, the sticker was on my car which is my property. It is really sad that we have come to a time and age where one no longer respects one's property and most importantly one's freedom of expression however shape or form it takes. If someone is offended by my stickers, then they shouldn't look, simple as that. I really want to yank off those damn yellow ribbons and flag magnets off others' cars but I don't. Why? Because it is their right to have them. In a country where freedom of expression is supposed to be upheld, we have a right to be offended and not to be offended. We have a right to say and do things that may be offensive to some and delightful to others within the context of the law of course. Nevertheless, I paid for the bumper sticker, not them. If you don't like the message, tough luck!
On the bright side, I was talking to a person who worked a grocery store that I frequent and told her about the situation and she brought up another possibility, that someone may have liked it and took it off. That still doesn't really allieviate my anger. We commented on the ribbon magnet thingies and she even admitted that they were too much.
Well, I guess I'll just buy another one, it's not really a big boo hoo. I'm just sick of the immaturity that is happening in this nation, and in the world.
God! Take me off this insane asylum of a planet!
