Downing St. memo is a dead issue now.
Nothing will happen with that and the NW story will go on ad nauseum until the next thing comes up.

1. I nominate this for the most idiotic self defeating post ever at DU

and now I'm gonna click on 'Hide Thread'

On a morning when Democrats should be gearing up for fights on several fronts, posting a such rank speculation of ultimate defeat as if it were fact is bound to be a discouraging influence. And especially the title. The title should express your outrage at the media silence, complicity and be a call to arms, not a prediction of ultimate defeat. I personally am in this to win, and winning requires team spirit, and you don't get that by predicting defeat. Post a message that will make people want to fight and not just give up and go fishing and I'll nominate you for greatest instead. Just my humble opinion.

5. why?
it points out that the media is fully under the control of the administration, and unless something is done, we are in real trouble

7. DO more.????
I think the comment was meant to be a brief commentary concerning the current state of affairs. Maybe even a rallying cry.
That entire Gannon Guckert thing, and of course the election FRAUD are also big issues, but were poopooed away. The GG investigations just dismissed. POOF
We can't let this continue! PLEASE sure sign the petions I also want folks to send post cards to congress and the media demanding HONEST investigations into crimes against democracy and honest news reporting. Orange ones would be nice- poster board- 4x6" index cards or progressive site ones.
Do something and then do more.
Many of us did kind of know this information, but this document you would have thought would have smashed the lid off the crap trap. It hasn't so far- but I think there are more and more cracks.
We have to blow the lid off, some how. jarnocan.blogspot.com

8. 90% of the TV Media has ignored this and
no top tier Dems, except Rep. Conyers has mentioned it. Yeah, it may sound negative on my part but it sure does seem that most Amerikans wouldn't care about it either even though a large percentage now view Iraq Invasion as a mistake they still support that the U.S. troops stay there until Iraq can defend itself. Of course, that will never happen and the U.S. will keep a large amount of troops there until the oil is depleted. Most Dems in Congress support the BushFascist Agenda for Iraq.

12. eventually our resources
both human and monetary will reach their limit, and we will bring the troops home

I predict in 5 to 7 years, and even if a democrat wins, I do not see them having the courage to do it sooner

Frankly, we are in the middle of a civil war and are too stupid to realize it

What * has effectively done is overthrow a secular government in the middle east, and setup a Islamic fundamentalist government with close ties to Iran.

So much for balance. Even his father realized that the balance was important, but this idiot, and his neocon associates have assured us of instability, permanant high gas prices in a sensless war

After 9/11 there was a once in the life time opportunity to unite the world, and this moron, did just the opposite

14. It's on the front page of my local paper today! I almost fainted!
Article headline: British Memo reopens war claim. subtitle: Leaked briefing says U.S. intelligence facts "fixed" around policy.

The article says the memo has caused a stir in Britian and is a "dud" in the U.S. ....no shit! :eyes: That's what happens when you have government/corporate controlled propaganda TV! :grr:
