Has the US insisted that the Muslim captives receive a Koran like they
did for the American captives when China shot down our spy plane? We demanded that Bibles be sent to all our servicemen under guard by China. Has the US shown the same degree of respect for the Muslims?

2. In short, yes (sorta on Quran) no on respect.

According to a number of sources who were held at Gitmo, at first there was no way to pray, due to lack of time and refusal of US to let the inmates know the qibla, or direction to Mecca, and there were no Qurans. Qurans were later delivered, but in at least some cases pages were torn out, the books were kicked by americans in in some cases dumped into the buckets used to collect urine and fecal wastes.
