Do top-level Repukes really oppose Stem Cell Research?
I'm aware of their public pronouncements, but is this just another case of them using something as a wedge issue, while not actually trying to stop it?

Stem Cell/cloning research is the next great frontier in medical technology. Surely some of them must realize that banning it means we're going to get left far behind in medical technology.

And if there's anything elected Republicans can't stand, it's the idea of "furreners" having superior technology to 'Merikans.

So I ask. Is this just another cynical ruse by Cons to divide the electorate?

1. They support it overseas
because they know they're wealthy enough to get the treatments supplied by the research. All they need to do is hop on that private jet and go.

The rest of us can be neatly divided over it, thus keeping their pasty, overprivileged asses exactly where they are, grabbing more and more wealth and power away from the rest of us.
