In fact, the Sith are fascinating if you read the books and comics. They have their own prophecies and their own interpretation of the "life" force, albeit an evil interpretation. The Jedi are like the knights of the round table, once losing their master and destabilized, they go on extended quests of self discovery and meditation.

The Jedi are the moral high ground and the Sith feed into the most base element of the human condition.
