With info from http://www.icasualties.org/oif/">icasualties.

Please excuse the abject hatred of the troops I display by posting this.

1. Notice that the dips are seasonal
Or at least appear to be. For all the ballyhooed "reduction in casualties in March/April, it appears that this was simply a spring trend.

What happens in Iraq in spring? Rainy Season?

3. Spring is the Season of War
No idea why, but spring always has the most suffering. And it the summer it decreases again and increases during autumn and winter to peak in spring.

It is not just this war. It happens often. It seems to be a natural condition. Maybe it is the reverse on the Southern Hemisphere which means that it is human behavior.

4. Yeah but
this is just the opposite. Spring causes dips in this graph.

My only hypothesis...in hot and colder weather, insurgents are more pissed off?

2. Welcome Ian
The trend is heading in the wrong direction.
Wanting an end to the suffering is not hatred of the troops, it is compassion with the troops. Hardliners confuse the two, but wanting somebody to life is a form or love. Not hate. So never let anybody or yourself tell you otherwise.

In the meantime enjoy this :toast: as a welcome :)
