2. I just hope the mention the hearing on Thursday
so people will watch. I'm heading to Ireland on Wednesday. I'll be very curious to see how the news covers events over there.

8. Hi, Windy....

I have relatives in Ireland right now. Unfortunately, they are the lifelong Repuke side of the family. The Dem (more informed) side is hoping that they get a taste of what the rest of the world thinks of us, thanks to "their boy, G.W. Bush."

I would be interested in knowing how it is playing there.

:hi:

Having been to the UK in the winter of 2004, I can gaurantee you that your relatives will have an eye-opening experience!! I had many wonderful conversations with the british about the travesty of this war and our cowboy president.

13. Don't bet on it!

As much as I want this to bust wide open, John King and all the other sorry folks won't do it.

It has got to be a surprise Democrat. Someone mild mannered that would surprise them and be supportive of DSM/Dean etc.

I can't imagine who that someone would be at this point. Certainly not Joey Lieberman.

5. Sounds like a self-negating proposition.
Leslie "macho-Wolf-man" will dismiss it as a vicious conspiracy theory.

6. If it is to be discussed, then CNN has already mapped and
scripted what is to be said. It doesn't matter who is doing the reporting.

9. I don't know about that
Sunday news shows have been odd this morning. Meet the press, Tim Russert, actually rode Bushco on poll numbers during his round table.

Faux's Bill Kristol, actually was in favor of closing Gitmo and moving prisoners to the US. That asshat never strays from right wing talking points. It even drew criticism from Brit Hume who said, " but they would come under different rules." It so refreshing to see them admit what they have lied so long about!

20. And that GOP "Freedom Fries" congressman
on This Weak with Judas Esacriot. He's sending a letter to the White House next week calling for a 'date certain' withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

He was asked if he blamed Rumsfeld or Bush for the "mistakes' made, and he said:

"I blame the neoconservatives for supplying bad information to the administration."

I have never before heard a GOP congressman use the word 'neoconservative' the way we've been using it for years.

That left me gasping.

22. Tides are changing
with 2006 elections looming and Bush's low poll numbers dragging down those looking for reelection, I don't think many of the GOP will tow the party line.

7. "Lack of postwar planning"
seems to be the slant from anyone who has addressed this so far--as if we had any business going to Iraq in the first place and didn't fix the intelligence around the policy.

Corporate CANNED News needs to wake the hell up, grow some spine, and just say flatout "The war was a lie they made up bullcrap and now thousands are dead. There's no exscuse for this. The president lied and they need to be removed."

Our mental health as a country might go up a few points :eyes:

16. Heard the slant on local news, of all places
It seems that they will be playing the 'lack of planning' spin and ignore the fixing intelligence angle.

Whores, they know they have to admit SOMETHING about BushCo to keep the veneer of credibility so they chose the lazy and stupid, instead of the EVIL, lazy, and stupid option.

We, fortunately, have it in black and white...an official document with official minutes from an official meeting. Spin is NOT going to work this time.
