What has been Bush's lowest poll approval number until now?
Does anyone have a link on this information, especially concerning the Gallup Poll of Monday?

Is 50% the lowest Gallup has had him, since the beginning of his presidency?

You know, when a right wing shill like CNN's Bill Schneider keeps repeating the phrase "Bush is sinking," (he's said it on Inside Politics, he's said it on Aaron Brown) that's, well, that's what we've been waiting for around here, isn't it?!??

I just can't believe the news of today... and honestly, I could give a crap (outside of the early elation this afternoon) about the current polling numbers of the Dem candidates. The fact that Bush is at 50% in a Gallup poll less than five months after declaring the end of a "war" is just mindblowing. I am more encouraged and energized by this news than I've been in months.

So, again, does anyone have a hard number as to Bush's lowest Gallup approval rating of his presidency?

Thanks!
:-)
Jennifer

1. Is this not the lowest "war-time" approval rating ever recorded?

Except perhaps Tricky-Dick during Watergate?

2. Wasn't it in the mid 40's before 9/11?

4. I though one of the threads I saw today said Gallop at 50%
IS the lowest he has ever polled. There is one thread with a scatter graph on it comparing Bush Sr, Reagan, Clinton, Carter, and dipshit. In GD somewhere started this afternoon

5. Several tv reports of this poll call it his 'lowest since taking office'.

6. When I think back to May 1st...
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 12:52 AM by VolcanoJen
... and remember Tweety and Fineman waxing about Chimpy in the flight suit, saying things like "This president is unbeatable," I just can't tell you how energized I am by the way it's played out.

What I wouldn't give to have Janeane, or someone as strong as she is, go on Tweety's show and play him those clips over, and over, and over again... and then, to show them to fellow right-wing parrots like Novak and Clift and Safire, all of whom couldn't help but shamelessly piss themselves over the prospects of Four More Years of raping the environment, eroding civil rights, stealing from the poor to give to the rich, war-making just for the hell of it, and double-speak so arrogant and naked that Orwell was made to roll over in his grave...

I always thought that Chimpy Jumped the Shark when he did the flight suit stunt, but maybe it really happened when he asked for $87 billion to perpetuate his war in Iraq. It is shocking to me that in 30 tiny days he dropped 10 points, according to the Gallup Poll.

This is indeed an encouraging day for all of us who have kept the drip, drip, drip... well, dripping.

Amazed,
Jennifer

10. So, he's had 9/11, and he's had his war that he always wanted...
... and he's at 50%.

This is, without a doubt, our election to lose.

11. Just like ol' poppy
I remember media whores saying Bush sr. was unbeatable after the 1991 Gulf War. It sure seemed like it then, but then the Chimp is probably one of the best examples of 'if you don't learn from history, you're doomed to repeat it'.

13. Local NBC news in Los Angeles
prominently mentioned the 50% approval as his lowest ever as well as the Clark 49% Bush 46% poll numbers.
