Americans have strong desire to bring freedom to Iraqi people ?
That is the point to which the lies have progressed. Perhaps the polls have changed since the war in Iraq began but I doubt if even the majority of Republicans' appetite for war is that strong. They lie to themselves, because they too, thought the war was about WMDs and imminent threats to America. Now, it is to bring freedom to the Iraqis.

No doubt, most Americans would like to see the Iraqi people have their freedom but they do not see an endless supply of American lives as the solution. It's just a matter of time before we "find" a way to withdraw our troops "honorably" and let the Iraqi people discover their "freedom" on their own.

In my opinion, the Democratic Party would be wise to see this writing on the wall. They should directly challenge the Republicans on this point. We did not go to war so the Iraqis could have "freedom". We went to war because of the threats to our security, disguised as a lie. We have no obligation to continue the death and destruction brought on us by the lies of those in power. We cannot defend their country forever. They will have to do it for themselves. If they cannot come to the table and discuss their differences, they will simply have to settle it whichever way they think best. We should have a timetable to withdraw from that country.

1. I've heard it all before during the 60s
Inside every Rag Head (Gook) there's an American trying to get out!
:sarcasm:

These sentiments are quite alluring but delusional. :puke:

2. Americans have a strong desire to see freedom brought back to them!
How does anyone suggest we withdraw out troops 'honorably' when there's is no honor to be salvaged in this situation whatsoever?

The bush** and blair cabal lied. They lied to take over a country. In the process of taking over that country they killed tens of thousands of innocent people who were citizens of that country and we are almost at the 2000 mark for our own countrymen (although I have my own opinion about the numbers).

Now we are about to divvy up the oil fields and give them away, of course after taking the best for ourselves.

Where in this situation can anything even remotely resemblind democracy be found?

3. Democracy can NEVER be imposed
particularly at the point of a gun. Democracy is something that grows from within from a people who desire it.
