Dean and Rove turning up the heat, a view from Josh Marshall
Marshall links to this post he did last year:

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_08_15.php#003295

The issue is attack politics works best when the other side doesn't strike back. Make 'em look weak. If you can't defend yourself, you can't defend America. . .so the thinking goes. Probably right, even if we are reacting on a subconscious level.

It's also why I love Dean. He's a scapper and he's not only meeting them one for one, he's making the same kind of attacks against them as they are making against us. How do they respond to "white Christian party"? They can't just say "no we're not!"

It's dirty politics but more interesting when you have two people with brains (Rove and Dean) playing and you understand the rules.

Personally, I think our ideals will triumph in the end, but when up against an unethical group like the Bush gang, Dean may be what we need right now.

3. And even better....
....what Dean says is the TRUTH. Rove can only spout lies and mischaracterizations. How "Christ-like" is that? And would a good Christian man have such an evil liar as his "brain"? Bush's choice of men like Rove and Cheney and Rumsfeld (the Saddam hugger) says a lot about him. He's a bad judge of character, and he eagerly swallows bad intelligence if it suits his purposes. What else is he willing to do? Who else is he willing to embrace? The dictator of Uzbekistan or Pakistan? Why did he give a wink and a nod to Pakistan PARDONING AQ Khan?

5. I don't think that Bush** is a bad judge of character. He's chosen
people who have the same charater flaws, lack of conscience, and lack of decency that he exhibits.

4.  Dean may be what we need right now.
why the majority of grassroots supported him in this position. why we supported him NOT to apologize. and why we tell the elected politicians, dean is our voice, get use to it and go with the flow

6. Dean is so good at calling Rove on his BS
I'm glad Dean holds no punches. He's exactly what we need. I'm tired of playing nice.
