Natalie Maines Rocks!
After hearing a rumor that the Dixie Chicks had decided to leave country music and join the Rock and Roll family, I went to their web site. There was this hilarious letter from Maines -

I love the part about Keith Richards playing the fiddle.

3. I think
It was definitely a satire - especially at the end where she said you could translate it to whater suits your agenda.

4. What do you mean by "for real"?
It's just a bit of wit on their website--for their fans.

I especialy like her answers to messages, including this one: "G. Gordon Liddy, Rush Limbaugh, and Don Imus all called again to ask about the plane crash. Listen guys this is really getting old. I'm sorry, but no we did not die in a plane crash. But look on the bright side…we fly all the time."

Of course, it sounds like she may have gotten some input from one of those other smart-mouthed Texas women like Molly Ivins or Ann Richardson.

5. lol that was geat.
Those country boys are too stupid to keep up with this girl. 10 bucks says "the ford truck man" had to ask someone to explain this letter to him.

6. She can come play at my picnic ANY time!
And yes, "Home" is Bluegrass. Bet Bill Monroe would've loved it.

9. Juanita's got DuhLay in her sights.
That's Juanita Jean, proprietress of "The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Shop, Inc." Her column appears in the Fort Bend Star.

These articles are specifically "aimed" at "Fort Bend County's very own Fighting CongressVarmint!"

12. How about a song Goodbye George" - similar to "Goodbye Earl."
I hope they start writing protest songs. Can you imagine if she wrote a song "Goodbye George" - similar to their #1 hit emmy-winning "Goodbye Earl".

We should all e-mail them to write it. Anybody know thier e-mail address?

Bought my first Dixie Chicks CD several months ago when they were getting "beat up" on. First country music CD I've ever bought. It was more a "protest" move than It felt good!!!
