What Is The Next Step In Iraq?
What do we do next? Do we pull out now? Do we stay the course?

I honestly don't know. I want our troops home more than anybody, and am definitely opposed to this whole ordeal. But then again, a part of me says that pulling them out would leave the whole place in chaos. Would it?

When you answer, I'd appreciate it if you explain your feelings. Whatever you feel is best.

1. Leave asap!!!
It already is in chaos! The Iraqis want us to leave, we should do so and live with the consequences of our folly, which almost certainly a Shiite theocracy with very close ties to Iran.

2. It's already in chaos
We are the cause of it--it is madness to presume we can be the solution. And there are racist undertones--suggesting that human beings in the country with the longest history on the planet can not forge their own way without the help of the youngest country in the world with a fairly shameful history of imperialism and mistreatment of indigenous culture.

4. it is already in Chaos!
Here is a 5 step plan to exit Iraq...

http://www.islamonline.net/English/In_Depth/Iraq_Aftermath/2005/01/article_01.shtml

It is a little dated but could still work. The problem is bushco** has NO intention of leaving...

<snip>

1. Decrease US troops and end offensive operations: As a first step to withdrawal, the US should declare an immediate cease-fire and reduce the number of troops deployed in Iraq. Instead, the Bush administration has done the opposite, increasing the number of troops stationed there by 12,000. Increased offensive operations will only escalate the violence and make Iraq less secure and less safe. The US should pull troops out of major cities so that greater manpower can be directed to guarding the borders to stem the flow of foreign fighters and money being used to fund the resistance. If Iraqi security forces need assistance maintaining order, they have the option of inviting in regional forces, as proposed by Saudi Arabia. They could also reinstate the former Iraqi army, which was well-trained, after purging upper-level Saddam supporters and providing additional counterinsurgency training to deal with the current war. Once implemented, these measures would allow for total withdrawal of US forces.

2. Declare that the US has no intention to maintain a permanent or long-term military presence or bases in Iraq: Congress needs to make clear that it is committed to the principle of responsible withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq. By making this statement through a congressional resolution, the US would openly acknowledge that it has no interest in controlling Middle Eastern oil or in suppressing Muslims, hence depriving insurgents of their central organizing message. Without such a resolution, Iraqis have little reason to believe that our present actions are nothing greater than a plan to establish a long-term military presence in Iraq and make the occupation a permanent feature of Iraqi life.

10. Need to be total pull out.
Partial pull out reduces troops ability and increases casualties.
Just declare a date and leave totally. And the US companies there better get out before that date.

5. Pull out
The faster the better.
Every secondx, minutes, days you stay the flame of hatred get hotter and hotter.
Why keep doing more wrong and harm?
You cant fix it. You only make it worst by staying.
Pull out and pay you dues to Iraq.... dont matter if US is bankrupt still need to be paid.

The minute you leave the people will celebrate on the street hey.
The Iraqies can take care of themself. The sucide bomber cant hide if they continue.

The only choas is a power struggle. What can one say they still need to find a working solution and US better butt out you broke it...
But you DONT OWN IRAQ.

This war should not have happen but it did, this war will destroy US.
Slowly but surely. Look at US today, how long more can you afford this.... 12 years?

7. Leave Iraq now!
It doesn't matter when we leave, much like Vietnam. Whenever we do leave there will be a short, sharp, violent little civil war, and then whomever the winning faction is will form a government and the country will be at peace and will start to truly rebuild.

One other thing, the US should pay out reparations, not just to the government and businesses of Iraq, but to every single person in Iraq. We committed a horrible crime with this war, and we should pay for it.

12. Yep, and the first people to tap for this vast sum of money,
Should be Bush, Cheney, and the rest of Bushco. Also include tapping Haliburton, KBR, and other war profiteers, including the arms manufacturers and media(in most cases, one in the same). Then work our way down the list of those who voted for the IWR, and then start working our way down the list of Bush bots who brainlessly cheered while this crime was committed.

8. Slow reduction of troops
Who is going to be the last cannon fodders.
IF US troops is getting kill now with so much troops do you expect that it would be less with less troops?
Total withdrawal will save lifes
A slow reduction will be a disaster casualties will increase.
This war cant be won. It is too lack to fix it.
