FRANKEN Doesn't "Do" Laura INGRAHAM

AL'S RETORT

AL Franken is not ashamed to call Rush Limbaugh "a big, fat idiot." But he swears he is not the kind of person who stands up talk show hosts such as Laura Ingraham, as she charged recently, taunting: "Come on, Al . . . come out, come out wherever you are!" "I never agreed to do her show," Franken told PAGE SIX. "And part of the reason I didn't want to do her show is because Laura does this kind of thing." Franken - who is promoting his latest book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" - has jousted with such other right wing talkers as G. Gordon Liddy and Michael Medved. "I'm perfectly happy to do conservative shows," he said. "I'm not afraid of anything. I'm not afraid of her. I just didn't want to do her show."

*****UNQUOTE****

And my mean spirited e-mail to her suggestions@lauraingraham.com of 09-23-03:

When *Miss* (not "Ms" or "Mrs"----she's anti-feminist) INGRAHAM converted to a new religion I wondered whether this was on the level of profundity as Lee ATWATER's deathbed repentance. I have often wondered why ATWATER's repentance never rubbed off on Shrub and ROVE. But I shouldn't have bothered about whether she is now in a different spiritual place: She's not. Perhaps it is only the Opus Dei aspect of power-playing that attracted her.

She hadn't been out and about much in recent months, but lately she has surfaced again in the throes of another "book". How does somebody who was said not to truck much with books WRITE books?

So there she is again. I strained my sight at the t.v. screen to detect any shade of repentance, spirituality, kindness towards others that might be attributed to her conversion. Nope, not there.

Now she's attacking Al FRANKEN for not guesting on her show. It's sort of the KURTZ gambit of positing that Al used LIMBOsevic's name in a title, then the Faux circus, for publicizing his own books, then KURTZ had multi-week segments of FRANKEN interviews on the KURTZ show. So *Miss* INGRAHAM likewise gains publicity for herself and show with FRANKEN's name.

But much more interesting is *Miss* INGRAHAM's religious experience, much more than her affairs at the same time she and her sexual partners were persecuting CLINTON.

Laura Ingraham is an odd duck , to be sure.. It sure seems odd to me that the women who go on and on about the sanctity of marriage are usually rightwing women "of a certain age" who have either never been married, or who have a few divorces under their belts..:curiouser:

5. I would watch that show
I actually kinda like Laura Ingraham. She's the best of the Right-wing blondes by far. And occasionally sounds reasonable.

6. I do too.
But she is biting off more than she can chew. Al would make mincemeat out of her.

I don't follow Laura Ingraham and don't know to what you are referring. Please elaborate.

10. For Posts 8&9

Earlier this year it became known that INGRAHAM had converted to Catholicism. I avoided specifics while alluding to Opus Dei because some DUers have objected to "attacks on somebody's FAITH." It's not the FAITH I'm attacking here, but am paying notice to the CONTRADICTION between her viciousness vs the image of holiness a supposed "conversion", or EXTRA labelling oneself with a religion, brings to mind. So, if somebody is going an EXTRA MILE to identify with a religion, which is supposed to connote some kind of elevated SPIRITUALITY, shouldn't that person eschew hatefulness? Same as with her sexual history, who cares, but while she and her co-wingnut-conspirators were persecuting CLINTON for sex, she was carrying on an affair with Asa HUTCHINSON. It's the hypocrisy. For now, the religious facet is more gnawing than the sexual aspect. She's not quite in the league as "Dr" Laurasevic, but getting there.

12. Is it True
What O'Reilly said about Franken. Franken attacked Wolfowitz and an NPR luncheon? If he did why didnt the Secret Service arrest him? That the DNC is paying Franken a salary?

13. "Attack"?
It was after Afghanistan and before Iraq, and what he did was to SAY to WOLFOWITZ that it was "CLINTON's military" that had won the day. It might be verbally provocative, but not physical, not calling for physical restraint. O'WHORELY seriously HAS been defaming Al with smears about "mental instability".

14. Nutshell: Al: "Nice job by Clinton's military." Wolfowitz: "Fuck you."
Edited on Fri Sep-26-03 12:24 PM by Richardo
Yeah, Al "attacked" Paul. Seems to me Wolfowitz' comment is more of an attack. WTG, O'Reilly - another lie.

Wimps.

Read the book. It's all in there.
