2. This will be especially bad for our social infrastructure...
as long as BushCo is in charge, they will continue to dismantle it, and the war on poor people, among other things, will go on

3. Medicare/Medicaid and the collapse of ERISA Defined Benefit Plans
are the ten ton gorillas in the living room (or - if you're from my part of the country - the crazy uncle in the apartment above the garage out back).

Unfortunately, we can't begin to look for solutions until we recognize that we have problems.

Meanwhile - I think Bush's Social Security non-plans are somewhere between a red herring and a weapon of mass distraction and diversion ---- distraction and diversion from the collapse of our health care funding (public and private) and our private funded pensions.

The problems per se are not the cause of our economic decline, off shoring, out sourcing, and sale of manufacturing businesses to China and India. It is the failure to even admit that these are problems that is driving our economic decline.

Walker is 100% on target.

7. we will have to let the terminally ill just die, over 80% of the total
Edited on Sat Jul-16-05 11:31 PM by sam sarrha
health care provided to a person on the average is spent the last 4 years of their lives.. aparently the hospitals trying to make up for the insurance companies profiteering, most are going to die soon anyway before they start cutting pieces off of them bit by bit.. like my crazy great aunt Tacie..
she didn't even know what was happening..
'
if we got a realistic nonprofit system.. we could save more than 1/2 what we spend now. legalize hemp and make them happy till the end when you cant do anything more.. put them in a Hospice and give them as much weed as they want.

my father knew what they would do to him when he had cancer, he told us he wasn't going to get treatment, it was worse than the disease.. and if we bugged him about it he would leave and die somewhere peaceful.. so we made him comfortable.. i started a garden for him and he had a fairly pleasant year and he died with a loving family around him.

8. Well, he said he was going to run the country like a business, so
that may be the only thing he hasn't lied about. Asswipe.

5. Of course

Bush has been trying to "sell" his Social Security plan since 1978 when he first ran for Congress and lost. He wants to do the opposite of what FDR did. They would love to drain us all and make their pockets fuller and make more people join the military so they never have to have a "Draft" and they can always stay in Iraq.
