RNC calling people up and saying media bias
Are the RNC allowed to do this, are they allowed to call people up and claim media bias?

from freeperville (I gotta stop lurking there it makes me too angry)

Yesterday the Republican National Committee called asking me to become a lifetime supporter. I explained that I will no longer provide financial support until G.W. stops the flood of illegal aliens crossing our borders.

The caller responded that no one knows what G.W. is really doing because of the media bias

I agreed with some of that statement, however, I explained that I do not base my opinions on what the media tells me. The caller said that she did not want to listen any longer and hung up on me.

13. Brettdale got this from FR
he says so in his post.

I know there's lots of freepers lurking around DU lately, but sheesh- at least read the post completely before you let accusations fly...

16. second that. sheesh, there is some serious communication breakdowns
around here of late. You are right about reading before casting accusations out there. Have seen several cases of it today.

4. Some DUers send various GOP organizations $5 per year so they keep
on the mailing lists and can keep track of what they are sending out so we can counter it. Also, a very nominal donation ends up costing the GOP organizations when you figure what they spend for various newsletters over the course of an election cycle.

7. And sometimes the GOP blankets a whole area with calls
My county is highly GOP. Only a handful of registared DEMS (small population altogether). The party just figures ANY household in the area will be GOP supporters.

Things not always what one would think.

31. count yourself lucky. I got a call a day last election cycle.
Finally stopped when I flat out told them I would keep them on the line as long as possible from now on since they didn't seem to believe that there was NOBODY supporting them at our #. Told 'em I have always been a registared DEM and was tried of being nice enough to want them off my phone so now I would waste their time with the same sort of drivil, lies and stupidity they were tossing about in on the national stage. Told 'em if I kept them from making one more call that day by stalling, I was helping America!

They never called after that. Go figure! ;)

9. Hey,that's a great idea!
I never thought of that one....I just might do that. Get all the junk mail I can from them and take them straight to the trash can. Let em spend their big bucks for nothing.

12. What is really cool is when they send those postage paid envelopes
in hopes of getting $$. I save those for sending other junk mail I have (without my address) so they have to pay for the return postage and I don't have to haul out as much junk paper! I am really getting ornery in my old age ;)

18. What I do with those prepaid
What I do with those prepaid envelopes (like the ones from credit card companies) is stuff 'em as full as I can with the heaviest paper I can (like Sunday advertising supplements) in addition to returning as much of their own stuff (my name removed) as will fit into the envelope (taped if necessary). Sometimes it seems like a good idea to empty the contents of my hole puncher catch-all into the envelope as well. That stuff's a b*t*h to clean up if it spills.

14. Would be less confusing for some here if you would put quotation marks
around the part that is from a post from freeperville... that or italics. Would help people understand you are reporting on what was said elsewhere.

I understood your reference, but I think others got it wrong.

2. Sounds like them alright. They wanna talk but not listen.
No laws saying they have to be honest. Even if they were, they don't let laws get in their way anyway.

They finally stopped calling our home. Guess they didn't like my remarks either... or maybe it was the "Somebody else for President" bumper sticker I sent them in their postage paid return envelope.

6. LOL
They once called here and told my mother they were happy she donated money and she never has donated before to any political group and she told them to never call back again. She's no longer a republican but this was before she left the party last year around the election. They just totally lied.

5. Is that your biggest problem with the Republicans?
Illegal aliens? I understand the threat they are to the Republican Party....afterall, a vast majority could someday become voting Democrats which would really ruin their Southern Strategy. Given everything else Bush Republicanism has done to our country, I'd think that's a relatively small issue.

10. I know plenty of die-hard Dems for whom it is a HUGE issue
They live along the border and find themselves in the middle of a 'shooting war' too often.

22. Who's doing the shooting?
Maybe I've missed it, but I haven't heard of any concerted armed Mexican move on the Southern border. I have heard vigilantes who have guns, though.

I know this is a HUGE issue with die-hard Republicans, but not die-hard Dems.

29. coyotes also armed and often fighting each other over who gets the $$
There was a shoot out on I10 between Tucson & Phoenix last year! Usually they just keep it to the jeep trails in the desert. Not just vigilantes with guns, my friend. Drug runners and people runners are damned dangerous too.

19. I only got ONE call from the GOP...EVER!!!
It was the eve of the 2000 election and the call was a recording of Barbara Bush asking that I vote for her son! I'm sure they don't monitor all that shit, but I yelled some obcenities into the phone and hung up!

Don't know why they never called again. I actually would enjoy ripping a live Freeper apart, but I guess they already know that somehow, huh?

20. Lurking in Freeperville is not good for one's health ever.
It can cause stress, high blood pressure and a myriad of other physical as well as mental health problems. (I've lost a few friends for them having done too much of it.)

Peace

24. If You Put before the quoted text and after
Then it will come out italicized which makes it easier
for people to tell that you are quoting another message
and avoid getting silly flames from people who read to quickly.

26. We need a smiley with it's hair standing on end and eyes shocked wide open
Edited on Sun Jul-17-05 08:33 AM by Prag
Because, that is the smiley I'd have in this post.

Direct mail is Rove's M.O. So, I have no doubt these types of calls
are being made.

The reason none of us in the reality based world are getting
calls is due to the fact (I'm assuming) none of us signed the
"Loyalty/Mass Mailing" Oaths during the election campaign.
