I believe Rove will resign
My prediction is Friday, July 22, late in the afternoon.

1. I suspect that he will take a "leave of absence" instead.
Six of one, half a dozen of the other . . .

3. the knight will depart when it suits the king
of course he'll resign, no way bush fires him. but you can bet that even after he resigns he'll remain a close unofficial adviser and keep running the RNC. in fact, once he's unburdened with the yoke of the white house, he'll be free to push an even more radical agenda.....

9. Same day the Aby photos come out, plus they'll have all weekend to
make up some spin about his wanting to spend more time with his family...

10. Oh I think the spin will be the following...
Bush will speak about Karl Rove's sacrifice, that even though he has done nothing wrong, the attention this is getting is preventing the WH from the hard work that must be done. Reluctantly, Bush will accept his resignation while piling on accolades.

RW hateradio will echo KR as a hero for saving the administration by sacrificing himself.

When Rove is indicted, tried, and jailed, the "I-was-out-of-the-loop" card will be played by Bush. Just like his daddy did.

10 years from now, stayed tuned for "The Karl Rove Voice For Americans" from 3-6 following Rush Limbaugh on your local hateradio station.

8. That's not going to keep him from going to jail.
He'll look like a walking Sunkist advertisement.

11. These people are without shame
I don't think resigning has even crossed his little reptilian brain. They will continue to deny everything right up to the time the handcuffs go on. I wouldn't put much hope in Rove ever giving up.

12. Frank Rich believes it's a certainty
Seasoned audiences of presidential scandal know that there's only one certainty ahead: the timing of a Karl Rove resignation. As always in this genre, the knight takes the fall at exactly that moment when it's essential to protect the king.

13. It is immaterial if he resigns...
for the next day he will have a private sector job making 6x what he made at the WH and he and Bush* will still be in contact.

Not that I would like him to stay at the WH, but if Rove does leave the WH Rove's and Bush's* credibility will have been lowered. Reminds me of a half win, half lose proposition.
