I'm working out of State, but my hubby is in N.C. I remember too well that there were "mock attacks" exercises going on on the morning of 9/11...which is why, "they say", the jets weren't scrambled in time. And FEMA was stationed ACROSS THE STREET from the twin towers.

If they're really doing this "mock nuclear attack", there are one helluva lot of military bases in N.C. where "terrorists" would LOVE to make some headlines!

But I just read a similar weblog about this same discussion here:

"...Cheney, a known PNAC kingpin, has ordered plans to be drawn up preparing for a launch of a nuclear attack on Iran to be used as a retaliation for a massive terror attack on the US. 1. The events of 9/11 took place on a day and at the same time of day that hijacking and terror drills in the northeast (NY specifically) were taking place.
2. The London bombings took place as drills to deal with the exact kind of event were taking place.
3. Nuclear preparedness drills are to take place in the US in August of this year.

9. Just watching CNN

They did a piece on Bush's lowest ever poll ratings. The woman (don't know who she was - they all like alike to me) said it could be because of support for Iraq war is going down. Then she contradicted herself saying the poll numbers on just support for Iraq war hadn't changed in 3 weeks.

Duh? No mention of Rove, Bolton, or Roberts or any indication AT ALL how that might be affecting Bush's approval ratings. Hell, she didn't even say a PEEP about Social Security, Bankruptcy Bill, unemployment/layoffs, etc, etc.

Now I know why I don't watch the talking heads anymore. I can read far more about what is going on in this country and the world from just reading this board.

14. A nuclear attack on US soil

Cheney has been frothing at the mouth.....and has instructed STRATCOM to come up with a plan to attack Iran with nuclear weapons should a "911 type" attack occur on US soil.

I fear for you guys too. I fear for us all. Bolton must be in place in the US first. He will be the cheerleader to attack Iran REGARDLESS of any evidence. The UN will fold under. That is Bolton's mission....not to reform the UN - to dismantle it.

They have come too far to stop now. Plamegate, Boltongate, Treasongate or whatever gate you want - none of it will stop them.

He's supposed to be going on vacation next month as well I believe. I think it would be a mistake personally. Remember last year Bush made the "war on terror" the main part of his campaign since he had nothing else to run on. Cheney said if you vote for the wrong person you'd get attacked again so wouldn't that show the public they failed? On the one hand I think they'd do it since they did before but I don't remember reading about a second "pearl harbor" event in the plans. I'll have to go back and read or if someone else can see. I just don't know if they'd do it but I do worry. :\ Especially cities like San Francisco, NYC, DC, etc.

They've said many things in the past that naysayers have been proven to be correct - and themselves wrong - and it matters little. Public opinion is no longer a concern of theirs. They will massage whatever message they need to - to get Iran attacked....as per the PNAC plan.
