Roberts' faith in the greenback
On a news show two nights ago dealing with the Roberts nomination, a list of about 10 mutual funds were listed in which the nominee has $10MM invested. The vast majority of the funds listed were ones which invest solely in Euro and other non-US denominated currencies. Those few holdouts who still have faith in *'s handling of the economy, trade deficits and monetary policy should note that high-level Republicans are not that stupid, and have come up with ways to preserve their wealth once their fearless leader sells out their country completely.

1. might it be the confession of an economic hitman?
Perhaps someone's sent a few economic hitmen after the US.

2. investment
I just thought it interesting that a well-to-do * insider would have so much invested in non-dollar assets. Unfortunately, the list of mutual funds shown on TV was not broken out by dollars invested in individual funds, so I couldn't tell how much of the $10MM was invested in dollars vs other currencies.

I think it would be interesting to similarly see how other top Bushies have invested their money. They support a regime which enables them to more easily exploit labor and the environment, and to keep more of that money in the form of fewer taxes. It only makes sense that they would protect their profits by investing the money in non-dollar assets, but shows how little faith they have in *'s overall management of the economy.
