The hunt for Pepperbelly's Links. The refutation of Clark's own words.
The EvilDUer Tinoire has been posting a number of post that describe in grate detail some of Clarks own words and the context in which they were spoken, as well as many of his associations and dealing with promoting Republicans, some of whom are high ranking PNACers. These Clark quotations are most alarming and extremely damaging to the Clark campaign.

But Pepperbelly has made the claim that these "anti-Clark smears" have already been refuted on the Democratic Underground. But after much poking and prodding, has failed to produce one link on the DU detailing these refutations. NOT ONE!

Well, sense Pepperbelly is not up to this task, and is either unable or unwilling to produce such threads, the time has come for other Clark supporters to step up to the pate and back up Pepperbelly's claim.

Let us see Tinoire's accusations against Clark refuted, either all or in part. If you desire a starting point, than check here for Tinoire's latest comments on the subject. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=423043&mesg_id=423043&page=

Tell me, is this Pepperbelly's folly? Or do I owe him an apology?

Refute away. (PS: A slow response is NOT a sign of weakness. By all means, take your time to compile your information.)

13. There is little difference between the scum in the WH and Clark
they are both the same! BTW, I didn't know until I read the speech that my former boss, General Emmett Paige was present in the audience. Paige is African-American, and he served under Dick Cheney at the Pentagon as C3III.

From the Wall Street Journal:

'Politics Has to Stop at the Water's Edge'
What the Democratic candidate said at a Republican fund-raiser.

BY WESLEY CLARK
Friday, September 26, 2003 12:01 a.m. EDT

(Editor's note: This is from a speech Gen. Clark delivered at the Lincoln Day dinner, a fund-raiser for the Pulaski County Republican Party, in Little Rock, Ark., May 11, 2001.)

One of the things I'm most proud of is they asked me to serve on the board of the National Endowment for Democracy. I don't know if you all know what the National Endowment for Democracy is, but President Ronald Reagan started it in the early 1980s to promote American values abroad.

<snip>

And I'm very glad we've got the great team in office: men like Colin Powell, Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Condolzeezza Rice, Paul O'Neill--people I know very well--our president, George W. Bush.

7. There's a post
by Pepperbelly in GD that has Clark's own explanation about the Pulaski County dinner.

So now let us see if you offer up that apology to Pepperbelly.

12. Pepperbelly's post refutes nothing.
He is only presenting a positive Clark qoutation. He has not refuted any of Clarks links or asations with Republican opritives, or other qotations where Clark speaks highly of Republicans.

And aprintly, Clark made a bid to run as a Republican, and was turned away by the Administration. Probably wanting to run in Chenny's place.

"And aprintly, Clark made a bid to run as a Republican, and was turned away by the Administration."

You state this as a fact, so now I understand exactly what you're willing to swallow. Bet you believe Gore said he invented the internet, too.

10. Extreme
And please do not be like Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity and use extreme language like not one link blah blah blah.

"But after much poking and prodding, has failed to produce one link on the DU detailing these refutations. NOT ONE!"

I have posted information, others have posted information - stuff, refutations etc is there - people don't want to read it. (I know, your next post will be Sean Hannity's line - so point to it - which is so ridiculous because there are 20 links with points/counterpoints.

Why is it all so black and white to you? The world is far more complex. I am not saying you don't have a right to not like Clark - you do - but please stop making extreme arguments.

I'd rather hear why I should support Dean than hear the negative stuff.

15. No links have been presented.
I have nothing to read. Where has Clark's own words and asosations been refuted? When a link is NOT forthcomming, I must conclude that Clark's own words have not been refuted.

16. I have not taken part in any of these candidate "bashing" threads
but, I think that they need to stop. We have 10 candidates with different messages, some good, some not so good, but they all, and I mean ALL would be far and away better for our country and the world than George W. Bush. Can you honestly say that General Clark would be worse than Bush? Can you? Or are you so willing to bring him or anyone not your candidate down. Geez, if we had this criteria in l992, would any of us have voted for Clinton? He had flaws big enough to drive a truck through, but he was hope, and we need that now. We won't survive another 4 years of these thugs, and if we keep trashing each other, we will get what we deserve.
