Mr Priss Geo.WILL Used CARTER's Stolen Briefing Bk, Didn't Return It
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 11:15 AM by UTUSN
In this snarky column, WILL slams CARTER as a "fibber" and "fabulist" for believing that WILL mis-used the stolen debate briefing book. In most minds, the image WILL projects of being prim and proper equates, wrongly, with his being "moral". So what we have here is that, when presented with dirty-tricks-STOLEN-material during a campaign, WILL did not object, did not question anybody about its provenance, did not run screaming from the room, did not scream for witnesses to see him run screaming from the room, and certainly did not do what the GORE campaign do in 2000, which was to report it. Yet he continues to pose on some sort of higher ground. Am working on an e-mail to him incorporating some of this paragraph. Suggestions welcome.

As for RAYGUN being "ready" on his own, uh, yeah-right, with Poppy BUSH negotiating with hostage-takers to KEEP the hostages till after the "election".

.... "Regarding your briefing book, I will tell you what I have told many others. When I got to David Stockman's house on the day he was preparing to play the role of you in the debate preparations, he had on his kitchen table what I gather was the briefing book. I do not know how he got it; more to the point, I do not know who thought having it would be helpful. Frankly, you deserved better. My cursory glance at it convinced me that it was a crashing bore and next to useless -- for you, or for anyone else."

Even though, as a columnist, my support for Reagan was well-known, my participation in his debate preparation was as inappropriate as it was superfluous -- after three decades of public advocacy, Reagan was ready. And speaking of the inappropriate:

The role of ex-president requires a grace and restraint notably absent from Carter. See, for example, his criticism of the United States when he is abroad, as in England two weeks ago. Having made such disappointing history as president, Carter as ex-president should at least refrain from disseminating a historical falsehood.

So strong, however, is the human impulse to believe comforting myths that Carter probably will continue to promulgate the fiction that I gave Reagan the utterly unimportant briefing book, thereby catalyzing the 1980 landslide. But to be fair: As a candidate, Carter promised only that as president he would never tell a lie, thereby leaving himself a loophole for his post-presidential career as a fabulist.

1. George "kiss-ass" Will is lower than whale shit
He is not fit to pass through Jimmy Carter's shadow. I cannot imagine why anyone would read the filth he writes, let alone pay for it. I can't think of any words nasty enough to include in your email to him; I wish I could.

2. I just e-mailed that shit-head Will
Carter is the best ex-president this country has ever had and has contributed to more good than Will can ever hope to.

3. Here's Mine
In your 8-11 column you villified Jimmy CARTER for continuing to believe that you made use of the stolen debate book in Campaign-1980.

You cultivate an image of being prim and proper, which in some minds might equate, wrongly, with being exceedingly MORAL. Yet, when you were exposed (such a passive victim) to dirty-tricks-STOLEN-material, you did NOT:

1) object;

2) question the provenance;

3) run screaming from the room;

4) scream for witnesses to see you run screaming from the room; or,

5) report it, the way the GORE campaign did in 2000.

Yet in this column, as always, you persist in squatting on some fabulous high ground, while also attempting to rub salt into the winner-loser scheme of things, perhaps even evening a score with STOCKMAN for other, later things.

As for RAYGUN being "ready" on his very own for a big win, yeah--it helps to have Poppy BUSH negotiating with hostage-takers to keep the hostages till after the election.

So, apart from the debate book, does your acknowledgement of the "inappropriateness" of your participation in the debate preparation amount to remorse over THAT wrongdoing, even? Anything at all?

By the way, nobody cares about your take on baseball either.

Yeah-yeah, I know it's an automatic reply, but somehow I'm grokking that he personally has accessed it.

5. How Republican of Him!

He admits to having seen and used the stolen briefing book, which is a crime. Then goes his extraordinary twisting of the truth:

"...he had on his kitchen table what I gather was the briefing book."

What? Do you know it was the briefing book, or do you not?

"...I do not know who thought having it would be helpful."

What kind of idiot would not think it would be helpful to Reagan to have Carter's briefing book before the debate?

"My cursory glance at it convinced me that it was a crashing bore and next to useless..."

Here it looks like you're sure enough it was the briefing book, so as to pass judgment on its content. Guess can pick up a lot with your cursory glances.

OK George, let's say your friend stole a car and you were caught driving it. Try this defense: "I only used the car to drive to the store. It didn't run very good and I hated the hubcaps."

"...after three decades of public advocacy, Reagan was ready."

Woah, and I didn't think Will had a sense of humor! Truth is, Saint
Ronnie of Reagan was famous for being a bumbling idiot when he was caught without a script to read from.

4/11/88
The media discovers a confession in Larry Speakes book, "Speaking Out", released four days earlier: ...he stated that preparing President Reagan for a press conference was "like re-inventing the wheel."

http://www.quickchange.com/reagan/1988.html

"The role of ex-president requires a grace..." blah blah, change the subject again and again, blah blah.

Carter won a Nobel Peace Prize, George. Guess there's a couple of people who disagree with you on this one.

6. George Will lost his reputation for honesty during the Florida 2000 fiasco
His articles concerning numbers of overvotes and undervotes in previous elections were either grossly incompetent or outright lies, and I never heard him admit he was wrong. He also continually accused Gore of lies that had been debunked before Will wrote them. He's just another hack, another Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Rielly. No integrity, no credibility.

10. Lots of Treason, there.
Will was only the tip of the BFEE iceturd. There were more than a few GOP moles inside the Carter White House. Donald Gregg for one. Robert Gates, another. Both those crooked nutjobs went on to bigger and better things in the Bushtrolled CIA. What's worse: Those two traitors helped heap the Cold War arms race purchases deep on the US Taxpayer by "sexing up" the strength of the incompetent commies. They have a lot to answer for in eternity.
