Treasongate and LIHOP

This National Security Crisis (the outing of Plame) will not go away because the CIA will not let it go away, nor will Ambassador Wilson.

This story will end when 2 (or more) of the Administrations top officials go to jail for treason. They will be shown to have outed an undercover CIA agent who apparently was working on stopping the proliferation of WMD.

The public will then ask how could they have done this? How? Instead of easy answers, they will find out that Iraq was all lies, that Cheney and BushCo profitted directly from their war, that Kenny Boy was Bush's dear friend, they'll wonder who did send that Anthrax, why is the power going out on record levels, etc, etc, etc...

This will lead us back to LIHOP, or MIHOP. I believe the public will ask "how could they?" all over again, but that the answer will be clear by then, shown again and again:The BFEE wants to end democracy. They are murderers, traitors, and capable of anything.

LIHOP/MIHOP will creep into the public mind more and more. It can't be soon enough, but now it seems that it may happen. They will pay.

It would require an aggressive media and a public with an attention span longer than a day. I'm not sure we have either.

But I'm pessimistic by nature.

I just sense it lately. Something about the entry of Clark, and soms other recent occurences suggested to me that there is a serious power struggle going on right now and somebody's trying to have a hand both ways. Bush is no longer in control.

The CIA is the only entity in Washington that might be more powerful than Bushco.

And Poppy may not be able to help his little boy on this one. He is, after all, quite retired from the CIA. Others now have the real power.

Asscroft will bury this. The media then will move on to some celebrity BS and the public will largely forget it. If it is brought up by Democrats, then the Repubs will cry, "Politics!" and the public's collective eyes will glaze over until they can find something shiny.

Come on, people. Quitting is not an option. Being doomed is not an option. It isn't helpful, it isn't brave, it is inaccurate...have I mentioned it's not helpful?

The slaves that built this country didn't quit. They struggled and endured and fought and their children's children still fight on. They were never paid, they were persecuted and ridiculed for every victory they acheived! AND THEY NEVER QUIT.

Don't you think they could have quit, cried "we are doomed" as you have?

Yes things are catostrophically bad. Yes the media whored this war to an eager and ill-informed public, but don't quit.

11. I'm not quitting.

I'm not a quitter by nature, but that doesn't mean I won't evaluate things reasonably objectively. I'll keep trying and talking and planting seeds of doubt. However, I think that the average American doesn't care. We have lost our sense of honesty -- which is essential in a representative democracy. I think we are doomed, but that's no excuse to quit, IMO. :)

I think the enormity of all that has happened the past 3 years is too much for even many informed Americans to wrap their heads around. The idea of a presidential administration allowing 3,000 Americans to be killed to further their agenda is too heinous, too terrifying for most people to accept - at least while that administration is still in power.

When a new presidential administration takes the helm I think it will be safe for people to allow themselves to look at the evidence we have and demand further investigation. A real investigation, not the 'Warren Commission' kind we have seen so far.

I don't mean people choose not to accept LIHOP, I mean that their brains won't let them go there.

It's going to take a lot of digestion for people to open up to LIHOP/MIHOP...but, hell, BushCo is sure giving people a lot of scandal and crimes to chew on.
