The real question that begs to be asked.
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 12:06 AM by Liberal_Guerilla
Who else was the president trying to silence and why? After all, This was to intimidate other CIA operatives from speaking out against the Iraq war, Why? Ambassador Wilson had already done his damage, so he and his wife were just being used as examples of what can happen to you if you go against the evil Bush regime.

So the question that begs to be asked is, whom else and why was the Bush Admin trying to silence the CIA? What else don't they want us to know? And now that the CIA is fighting back, will we find out answers to these questions?

(and it's just a theory)

Is that Shrub's guys, like Wolfowitz and Cheney and Rumsfeld, felt that because of Bush's connections to the CIA, i.e. his fucking FATHER, that they could march into the CIA and act like they owned it and boss everybody around to do their bidding.

What they sorta forgot was that Poppy was the head of things quite a while ago and there's a whole new generation of people on board at the CIA.

This caused a big war within the CIA ... with the new guard winning. The new guard is now in power at the CIA and they're PISSED OFF.

And now they're coming out against Shrubby .....

And guess what? Poppy can't help them no' mo'!!!

So Shrubby's in deep shit.

It was their usual childish "well my daddy used to be your BOSS, so shut up and do what we say!"

On edit: So in answer to your question, I think it was nothing more than the usual drunk-with-power neocon bullshit, running roughshod over the law, as they are wont to do, and feeling like they can get away with anything, because, well, they usually do!

3.  good answer
but I also keep coming back to the completely off-topic
female and child sex slave industry comments at the UN.

I keep wondering just who and how many people he was
talking to, both citizens of US and other countries. Which
also leads me to wonder about murder...
