Seattle DU'ers Catch Dori Monson spinning Wilsongate?
First of all, many of his facts are "old" - he's still spinning the "she's just an analyst" line. His "talking points" fax from the RNC/FAIR must have not gotten through.

Is doing a "moral equivalence" between Wilsongate and the Jim McDermott/Taping debacle of a couple years ago. (Saying Jim can't talk about Wilsongate because of this). Oh brother.

Non-Seattle DU'ers: Dori Monson is a "local" "supposedly middle of the road" talk show host who isn't talented enough to go national. He seems much more of an apologist for the Bush Administration for someone "middle of the road" for my taste - but outside of NPR we don't have much in the way of talk show options - it either Hannity or Medved on the other channels - so much for "liberal" media in Seattle!

2. I can't listen to him anymore.

I've been hoping Dori would announce his move to KVI or the other wingnut station. KIRO could do better.

3. Dori revealed his true colors a few weeks ago
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 04:17 PM by barbaraann
when he said anyone sitting in a car coming home from work at 5 pm was a LOSER because they should be putting in extra time to get ahead!!!!! He tried mitigating it subsequently but it was unforgivable, IMHO.

Also, yesterday he was attacking Rachel Corrie for being "stupid" enough to go into a war zone and get killed, etc. and for making the USA look bad. He called Evergreen State College students "loonies." At the same time on another station Michael Medved (of all people) was going after U of W frat boys for the recent drunken, property-damaging riot on frat row. So Evergreen students who care about peace and justice are deemed inferior to drunken spoiled brats by Mr. Monson. What a twisted perspective!

Dori voted for Clinton. I think that he's had some "reeducation."

Is there a special hell for media whores?

4. Is he still claiming to be non-biased?
I mistakenly hit his show in February and he was blasting opposition to the war as providing sympathy and comfort to terrorists. Did I mention that he's kind wimpy? He's always struck me as desperately trying to compensate for something.

5. Well, um, he's very short.
I am short myself and don't have anything against short people but I guess sometimes it's tough on men.

p.s. Paul Wellstone was a giant--physical height means nothing.

6. No......but Mike Webb on 710 KIRO was on a roll last night
Webb's show just seems to get better when I can tune in. He was really laying into Novak & Rove last night.

Anything negative about Monson's intelligence or subject matter is pretty easy to believe. I heard him some weeks ago extolling the wisdom of the simian-faced-idiot-from-Crawford who is not-qualified-to-mow-his-own-lawn's wisdom in the "war on terra."

Yeah, Monson is middle of the road, just like a dead skunk that stinks up the local environs as it "lies" there.
