"Only God knows whether we are right in standing up for our gay friends, but we do so in all sincerity and with the hope that no one should shower grief over the happiness sought by another human being. Let us learn to live and let live."

1. As a gay man....
I wish I could move to Canada. I live 5 minutes from Canada, and I am SOOOOO tired of the childish bigotry that I face here in the states. The petty meannesses that are daily events. And this from people whom I know have never had an original thought in their lives, and, if they did, they'd be TERRIFIED.
For the Gay people out there, you know what I mean; for the open-minded heterosexuals, you know what I mean, and I cherish your open-minded attitudes; but for those who don't wish gay people well, and in the fairly short time I've been on DU, I see that there are more than a few of you, PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING.

2. I wish you could too...
I didn't realize that all that homophobic crap took place at DU. I guess seeing the superiority of progressiveness in general made me ignorant of that fact.

But as they say in Dragonlance, good is blind, while evil always turns in about itself.

The former is true, and the latter is true unless progressives who are part of the least oppressed group (white, heterosexual males) are very careful.
