Babs visited Albion College here in Michigan yesterday and was awarded an honorary PhD in humane letters. We all know this woman doesn't have a humane bone in her body and I couldn't resist reminding people of this fact. Any suggestions for making my LTTE more powerful and pithy are most welcome.
Here it is:
It’s nauseatingly ironic that Albion College (Former first lady speaks at Albion) saw fit to award Barbara Bush an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during her August 25 visit to the college.
The Associated Press article dutifully reported on Mrs. Bush’s “words of wisdom” to Albion students, writing the requisite rosy review of anyone within the Bush clan. I wonder how many in the audience remember the blood-chilling arrogance this woman exhibited when asked about reporting on the loss of life in wake of her son George W. Bush’s foray into Iraq. "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths," Barbara Bush said on ABC's "Good Morning America" on March 18, 2003. "Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" Only in Bush’s America could this woman be celebrated as humane.
Meanwhile, since her son began his five-week vacation, 75 American troops lost their lives in the immoral, bloody quagmire he created. While she was imparting insights on her audience, she should have used an old adage when describing her presidential offspring: “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
