that saddam was this coward hiding in a hole when the real truth was that he was shooting till the last moment...

He'll be suicided, I mean, uh - "he'll commit suicide". And leave one of those nifty little type written notes that they always find in those cases.

4. I heard that too
But I hear a lot of things that I'm not sure of the validity. One of the soldiers that captured Saddam was on one of the news station in the past few days. As he was being honored for capturing Saddam, he acted weird, like wondering if he should expose the truth. He's out of work and having a hard time getting by these days. He seemed like he didn't like going along with the lie. Not sure if I'm reading into it or not.

I also heard that one of the Saddam's wives went to see him and came out furious. She said that wasn't her husband they've captured. Must have been one of the doubles. Again, I'm not sure of the source or even where I heard that. I just read these things and wait for things to start playing out before making definite claims.

5. i heard that and i am not believeing. i saw a soldier that pulled
saddam out of the hole. he was on olderman. he didnt seem like there was any game at all going on with him. he wasnt there to specifically talk about this event or sell it, so there wasnt a hiding in it. he was also asked, what he thought about iraq today, and just without emotion or agenda said we need to pull out now. again this isnt what the show was about. he just did not seem like there was anything else going on with him

6. I'm with you on this one. I'll reserve further comment, but I think I
want more facts before I jump on any bandwagon.

plant a fake Saddam for this visit by Saddam's wife she then claims "thats not my Saddam'..What gives? Is this a conspiracy?

asd has the ring of truth to it. Sadaam was actually caught(if it is he) in a farmhouse, firing from the second storey window. One of the squad was killed, a troop from Lebanon, I think.
He was actually caught the day before the official date and the army stepped in with its make a new reality unit and built a production (god knows why) that was released to the public. This bunch can't tell the truth about anything, no matter how mundane. Stupid bastards.

10. I have never believed for one moment that saddam was caught
in a hole. That was a ridiculous, propaganda story from the start. "ladies and gentlemen...we got him". Just more lies...

12. As I recall, Howard Dean was really hitting his stride at that
time and his message was starting to resound. Bush needed a bounce, the insurgency was getting more intense, and most of us were sitting on puns&noodles, almost hoping Sadaam would not show up for a while, yet.
The combination of the capture and the concerted dirty tricks attacks by Kerry and others put Dean into a slide that was celebrated far and wide, mostly by the paid shills on the cable/satellite programs.

I never realized what a dirty game politics was, before. I would like to see the powers that be in the party institute a policy to go along with the "political integrity" platform that we must adopt, if the country is to survive.
That policy would state that, in all the pre-primary and primary politicking, the first to resort to gratuitous sliming loses-right then, right there.
If your opponent really is a snake jumper and is truly more suited to be in the company of Tom Delay, then you are obligated to point it out, providing you have ample proof, but this exaggeration and out of context sliming has to stop. We cannot survive any more of the hate invoking rhetoric that has become the order of the day.

11. It's just another in a long series of "staged" events.
Remember the babies in incubators story? - total lie
"Mission Accomplished" - the ship was circling for 24 hours out at sea so shrub could do his dramatic entrance, completely staged
Jessica Lynch Rescue story
Hay bales and a work shed at the Bush "ranch" - they weren't even at the "ranch"
Bush took spill off bike in Crawford because it had been rainy - there was no rain for the previous 10 days

That's just off the top of my head. Almost everything about this administration is fakey, staged, constructed... someone is definitely more concerned with "appearances" than substance.
