And we sent 130,000 to Iraq to secure a country of over 20 million.

I am not questioning your point, it is on the money. I am just shocked that a handful of snipers can cause the rescue of these people to stop. This is disgraceful!

6. I really think there is something more sinister at work here.
There is no reason for what has happened and what is happening. This goes way beyond incompetence. My TV has been all week, can't get much sleep. I just can't believe this is happening in America.

7. Brilliant point -- speaks to both situations
It is a brutally stark illustration of how utterly incompetent and careless Bush has been with the war in Iraq. And a terrible statement of the grave situation our soldiers face in Iraq. Simultaneously, it tells us that the response in New Orleans confuses military action with relief.
