chertoff spreading his lies to wolf right now: 11:42 CST
wolf actually playing clip of Brown's incompetence with Paula Zahn

anybody watching this?

dunno what else has been said, but he's been lying all morning, to Schieffer, Russert, wherever, and nobody's called him on his BS face to face

CNN DID do a segment on all the lies, about which somebody posted their website's version already

1. Russert called him on it I thought--and Leslie Blitzer ain't no kind of
journalist...so I wouldn't be surprised if he's as bland and milquetoasty as he looks.

But people were saying that Russert was tough on Chertoff? I've not seen it yet.

6. which lie did Russert catch him on? I only saw about a minute of that
show

I know he didn't catch the one about the 10,000 rescuees in three days

CNN popped that balloon with real numbers earlier this morning

I read on the MTP thread that Russert didn't agressively follow up with CHertoff the way he routinely does with his typical dem fodder

thx for the headsup, though

12. excellent point....they don't learn, because they don't CARE!
never forget that any appointee to a position that's designed to HELP people, as opposed to business interests, is PUT there for the express purpose of negating any ameliatory effects said agency was created to produce

and Brown is fulfilling that republican purpose to a T

4. Good thing Chertoff is standing in an open field...
Cause that way when the lightning strikes him for his lies, no more innocents will be killed.

Wolf is so useless. Give Anderson Cooper his job!

7. That lying SOB turned away all questions to field reporters this AM...
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 11:52 AM by Junkdrawer
saying "I am not going to waste ONE MINUTE talking about why things did or did not happen. I'm too busy directing rescue operations."

Then he spends the next 5 hours spinning his ass off for the Fox, CNN and NBC whores.

11. yep....saw one of those arrogant blowoffs myself
he does lie with amazing ease and assurance, though, doesn't he?

even when he's been caught out as baldly as CNN has done, both on their site, and onair

too bad Wolf doesn't use the resources of his OWN NETwork!

14. I'll bet the field reporters want answers to questions like these:
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 12:05 PM by Junkdrawer
Let me give you just three quick examples. We had Wal-Mart deliver three trucks of water, trailer trucks of water. FEMA turned them back. They said we didn't need them. This was a week ago. FEMA--we had 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel on a Coast Guard vessel docked in my parish. The Coast Guard said, "Come get the fuel right away." When we got there with our trucks, they got a word. "FEMA says don't give you the fuel." Yesterday--yesterday--FEMA comes in and cuts all of our emergency communication lines. They cut them without notice. Our sheriff, Harry Lee, goes back in, he reconnects the line. He posts armed guards on our line and says, "No one is getting near these lines." Sheriff Harry Lee said that if America--American government would have responded like Wal-Mart has responded, we wouldn't be in this crisis.

18. that was Broussard, right? I heard that on MTP
utterly disgraceful

there are LOTS of other FEMA tales of obstructionism at DU, including the boats from FLA and La.

they interviewed a guy on TV about his boat crew's experience

almost seems as if they, uh, WANTED things to be as FUBARed as they are, doesn't it?

10. Wolfie brought it to him this time.
Every question was (rightly) accusatory, every answer was spin.

Chertoff said that the absence of 40% of MIssissippi's NG troops due to their posting in Iraq had "no effect" on the response. I assume from this that if 100% of them were gone it would have 2.5 x 0 = 0 effect also. So why do we have them, if their absence doesn't matter?

16. John Breaux on now
WB: we knew NO was in great danger for years. why wasn't more DONE?

JB: lack of money, but there were other priorities

suddenly wolf has some facts at hand. $14 billion to make levees secure vs. cat 5 hurricanes. why not spent?

why not ask the PUGS?

wolf asks if it was the CLINTON admin, specifically, that wouldn't spend the money!!!!

what an ASS!!!!!! Clinton and Carter were the ONLY ones who tried to spend the money, but Gingrich and others were KEY in cutting back the money, and Bush CANCELLED funds that Clinton earmarked for hurricane protection

yet Wolf brings up ONLY Clinton!!!

ONLY CLINTON!!!

what else do you need to know?

17. Total Bull shitte....EXCUSES EXCUSES...there was no Organization to
activate an EFFORT for WORST CASE SCENARIO as they explain in their own manuals.

Someone forgot/neglected/FAILED/etc to impress upon the runaway Prez what the fuck needs to be done...Last Friday 2 days before the damn hit.

Was it FEAR?
"Ya can't just go in there and say...Hurricane coming, Hurricane coming to NOLA, cat 5, major shit coming down, we should prepare"...Ya think he wants to hear that shit?"

Well, notwithstanding warnings, the Bush chose to ignore the whole thing and concentrate on his big thorn/nail in his dick, put there by CINDY using a pneumatic happer

Because the man is short on brains, he could not switch gears from Cindy to NOLA in time...took 6 days to make the switch...he is a one issue type of idiot after all.
