Epiphany -- The longer they defend Brownie....

The more damage they are doing to their oh-so-carefully-crafted image.

If Bush doesn't get rid of him, he's toast. He may be toast anyway.

4. He didn't get rid of a TRAITOR like rove, what makes you think he
will get rid of ANYONE that is a failure? It's up to US the AMERICAN POPULOUS to get rid of the whole lot of piss-ants. We've been lied to, towers were destroyed, Osma still enjoys his freedom, an unjust war, outing a CIA operative, the lowest ratings ever for a standing president, hearings that he wouldn't go under oath and had to go in with Cheney, lost the debates, never had a plan, cheating with radio devices during debates, kissing oil sheiks that oppress women, ignore genocide in dufar, condones torture, ignores the law of nations, squanders a surplus, outsources our jobs....and Americans are still squawking, "he's toast," um, no he's not. He's only just begun. Get used to it, four more years if we're leaving it up to this administration, unless we get some courage and dignity back and take back our country. That starts with replacing Bush with someone America can admire and rally behind. This man is the great divider and a house divided WILL FALL!

6. He will be the sacrificial lamb.
If they end up having to pin the blame on one of their own, "Brownie" will take it squarely between the eyes. Rightly so, of course, but he'll be the only one that gets what's coming to him. He's so cartoonishly incompetant, even the right wingers are calling for his head. An example can be found here.

Bush's comment about him doing a "great job" will be forgotten. Spun away in a flurry of righteous indignation from the other upper echelon Republicans. Just like all of the other profoundly retarded utterances that've dribbled out of the corner of his ugly little mouth

11. Does anyone ever listen to the whistle blowers?
Except us, I mean. Like that one guy, what's his name, who was secretary of the treasury or something.

I don't really hold out much hope for that.

And in anycase, I doubt if "Brownie" is the type to do that. He obviously wasn't picked for his leadership ability or any skillset that could conceivably be applied to running an organization as large and as vital to the nation's infrastructure as FEMA.

Why then was he picked? I argue it was due to him be a loyal toady... There are those rumors that Brownie was roomies with the guy who blacked out Dubya's NTL Guard records.

Dubya is the type to pick a friend of the family whose loyalty to the crown is implicit over someone who can't necessarily be trusted to keep their trap shut but can, you know, actually do their job.

15. Ok, you made some valid points.
I stand somewhat corrected. I am seething with sarcasm lately and should come with a warning that I should not be taken seriously. At least too seriously.
