Haliburton gets all contracts
without any bidding, Haliburton has been givin the exclusive and lucrative contract to rebuild and repair the damage caused by Katrina.

Can the evidence of a self serving gorvnement be any more apparent?

Of course Dick Chenney will be getting a nice fat chunck to line his wallet.

1. Navy facilities only.
Not that I'd be surprised if they gave them the contracts for everything, but this contract is specific to damaged Navy facilities.

2. loathe as I am to correct you...
the houson chronicle states:

The Navy has hired Houston-based Halliburton Co. to restore electric power, repair roofs and remove debris at three naval facilities in Mississippi damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Halliburton subsidiary KBR will also perform damage assessments at other naval installations in New Orleans as soon as it is safe to do so.

KBR was assigned the work under a "construction capabilities" contract awarded in 2004 after a competitive bidding process. The company is not involved in the Army Corps of Engineers' effort to repair New Orleans' levees.

Just pointing out that when you say "without any bidding, Haliburton has been givin the exclusive and lucrative contract to rebuild and repair the damage caused by Katrina.'
you're not reading the story clearly. HOWEVER, I believe they WILL be given such a contract, but this story does not say that.

Your suspicion is my suspicion, but this story is scant on damning information.
