US 'approved' oil smuggling (Bush)
The largest oil consignment smuggled out of Iraq took place with US approval just weeks before the April 2003 invasion, according to a United Nations report.

1. I Read About This in Harper's a Couple Years Ago
The US had military control over most of the shipment points and dominated the oversight effort. All official sales were scrutinized for possible skimming. If something slipped through, chances are it was with US complicity.

Wonder why you never hear of this angle on this news reports.
