Canadian Troops Rescue Parish President After 4 Days on Roof
His son was just describing his dad's ordeal to a Fox anchor woman. Yesterday was the first time he had spoken to his dad (president of St. Bernard Parish) since Sunday.

The Foxbot anchorwoman was trying to inject race into the interview since St. Bernard Parish is mostly white, according to the guy she was interviewing.

He took the interview in a different direction and blamed the government for not being prepared and then, Canadian troops were the first ones to the scene of the rescue.

Sorry I didn't catch any names.

1. Here is an article on the Canadian help
Vancouver rescue team reached Louisana 5 days before U.S. military

CBC) - A Louisiana state senator has praised a Canadian search and rescue team. Senator Walter Boasso said a Vancouver-based team reached St. Bernard parish five days before the U.S. army got there.

"Fabulous, fabulous guys," Boasso said. "They started rolling with us and got in boats to save people ... We've got Canadian flags flying everywhere."

The suburb of 68,000 people was initially ignored by U.S. authorities who were scrambling to get aid to New Orleans. Boasso said floodwater in his parish is still 2.4 metres deep in some places.

He said residents of the outlying parishes had to mount their own rescue and relief efforts when Hurricane Katrina struck last week.

3. That would mean the son speaking in the OP is Broussard's
son. Wow!

It was good to see a Senator acknowledging the help and it was good to read they were finally receiving some at last.

9. No, there was momentary confusion of who was the President
of St. Bernard Parish, thinkingit was Broussard but Broussard is President of Jefferson Parish. See post below.

12. The president of St. Bernard Parrish was rescued from roof. His son
related the story to the Foxbot. I didn't catch the names.

The Foxbot was using this guy to counter earlier charges of racism by Kanye West, Sharpton and others. Her plan backfired when he began to rant about how the Canadian Government was more organized and prepared.

14. hey, thanks for posting that link, you just solved a mystery
that had been bugging me for days.
i heard over the news how st. bernard was getting no aid (from the u.s.), yet i could hear things on the scanner that seemed to contradict that.

reading that blog just solved the mystery.
it was the canadians :)

go canada!

that also explains why i had less trouble understanding them.

18. I am so proud of my fellow Canadians, so disappointed in the US response.

Our Vancouver USAR team beat FEMA and the US Army to the scene by 5 days, AND had to be called in by STATE Officials because the Federal Operation Drain The Swamp (into the City!) was in full effect.

Then, all the local rescuers could muster was "SHOW US YOUR TITS?"

Un-fucking believable!

Or having Firemen hand out FLYERS with the FEMA phone number on them?

Uh, hi is this FEMA? Go Fuck Yourself!
