Just ituned Kanye's new album Late Registration, and damn this is a good song.

It's about the slave labor used by Debeers and other Diamond companies, wow.

5. I wouldn't call NWA socially concious. Maybe Cube after he left
but then he sold out.

west coast hip-hop was all the bad NWA clones. I liked them 'cause they were the originals and were pissed off as shit.

13. Kanye West is awesome... period.
Screw Late Registration. You mean to tell me you're a hip-hop fan and you didn't pick up College Dropout when it dropped? For shame!

20. The whole album's great. But...
I recommend All Falls Down, Through the Wire, and Slow Jamz (slightly better than the version on Twista's album). It's all good, though.

18. I gave it a listen after what he said..
It's an absolutely awesome album. I used to listen to a lot of rap, but when it became all "bling this and bling that" I fell out of it. It's so nice to hear a musician being so honest- with a good beat you can dance to.

23. Props to Kanye, but skip the Stones single
Warning - I love the Stones, but "Sweet Neo Con" is one of their worst songs. Skip it unless you feel buying it makes an effective political statement in some way...

24. Check out the Coup
Great socially-conscious hip-hop from the West Coast. To get started, check out these tracks:

5 Million Ways to Kill a CEO (from "Party Music")
Fat Cats, Bigga Fish (from "Genocide & Juice")
Me & Jesus the Pimp in a '79 Granada Last Night (from "Steal This Album")

29. Saw him perform for the NFL last night

He is a dynamite performer.

As he left the stage he said something nice about the Katrina victims.
What a compassionate man.
