1. "Bush was among the first"
Hah! Nicely said. In years past, the president of the United States would have been first to the podium to address a UN session, and Bushy wasn't. Compare and contrast the incredible reception Clinton still gets when he goes overseas with the snub Chimpy just got today.

And Gabon is governed by President Bongo. That makes me giggle in a very juvenile manner, unfitting to one my age. I'll stop now.

{giggle}

2. You mean the US-manufactured so-called corruption scandal
called Oil-For-Food? Nevermind the US ignoring the terms of the UN Charter--we've got bigger fish to fry...

5. One of the defining moments of that time!

Thanks for sharing that picture.

That moment shaped the way that I feel now.

They really let the world know how they were feeling.

I met John Carlos in the 60's and he was a real nice guy.

He was not a mean spirited person, he was sincere in that salute.

What a powerful event!

Kanye West had the same kind of bravery but he did not have the audience.

7. It's a redeeming image of what's good about America.
It is NOT written, "We, the Sheeple". Let's bring our saving sense of rebellion back.

copy and paste the URl, then take out the space after http - I had to put it in or the link won't display at all due to the .jpg extension
