My husband turned the corner tonight
He votes Dem. But doesn't always appreciate my rants.

Tonight, W started talking. A few sentences in and hubby starts yelling at the tv screen - "Stop reporting news! We already know all this. We've known it for weeks!!!"

Nice to see him go off on a rant FIRST.

8. Tell that to my wife!
She hates it when I yell at the TV.

2. And your husband is right. Bush was telling us what we already knew and...
...even telling us what to think of it all. For example:

"...I have asked for, and the Congress has provided, more than $60 billion. This is an unprecedented response to an unprecedented crisis, which demonstrates the compassion and resolve of our nation."

We don't need to be told what it demonstrates but Chimpy has no idea what compassion means. It's just a word on a piece of paper to him. He is condescending, to be sure, but congenitally incapable of being moved by what has happened on the Gulf.

4. True conversion comes from within. Remember, all the experts
saying that democracy has to come from within? Those of us that, truly convert are like, ex smokers, drinkers. You might want to prepare, that's the bad news, the good news is You won't have to go there anymore.

5. The People Who Needed To Hear This Couldn't
And I'm grateful.

I popped on WWL in New Orleans after the speech for a bit and the natives weren't impressed...and those are the folks with lights and some semblence of a home and future.

This speech may have meant something if fuckstick had gone a couple miles north and delivered that speech waist deep in flood water...not some Disneyland setting that belies the reality of the situation.

This doofus' credibility is shot and his handlers think they can bullshit, lie, decieve and spend their way out of this mess like they have all the others. For the first time, the manchild met his match...he couldn't avoid or spin this tragedy. He couldn't count on his armada of spinmeisters to turn night into day. Too many people saw what happened and they knew who failed.

Let this boy continue to live in his bubble. Yes, it's hurt the nation enomorously and it'll take years, if not decades to clear up the debris, but for now his words and stupidity are finally out in the open and can and should be used to change the Congress and political dynamic of this country.

7. Yep, just because he only recently found out
all this info, doesn't mean the rest of us don't already know it.

Some of us read newspapers and watch tv. :eyes:

9. My SO used to roll his eyes at me
and yell at me when ever I reflexively yelled "stupid lying sackofshit" at the TV whenever Bush came on ( guess it gets boring after a while)

Over vacation, he used to go sit in the rented SUV and listen to Sirius Left, and come back and report the latest atrocity.

He still won't yell at the TV, but last night he shook his head and say "too late, Georgie, too late" before I could say anything.
