Hell no, he won't. He was on Now with Bill Moyers last Friday and kicked the pop media's ass. Best Now ever.

Bill has a bit of a point, but to say Dems should shut up now is really stupid.

3. Who cares?
He's a has-been whose career never amounted to anything to start with.

Why fret about Dennis Miller and Bill Maher? They're about as relevant as my Aunt Louise.

5. Bravo

Thank you for saying that. These people are of no consequence what so ever. Add to the list Chris Matthews, another non-entity that people here obsess over endlessly. And the sam goes for every other cable tv reporter or pundit.

6. How about the 15 breathless threads every day
relating such bombshells as:

OH MY GOD--THE FREEPERS DON'T LIKE BARNEY FRANK!!!!!!!

and

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? SOMEONE AT LUCIANNE.COM JUST MADE A RUDE REMARK!!!

Sometimes I wish the management would start a new forum called "Breaking News for the Easily Surprised."

7. As someone who still enjoys Bill Maher
You have to remember, Bill is not exactly on OUR "side." Bill is a libertarian, not a Dem. If you watched Bill's HBO show you'd know that he never gives Bush or the Repukes any slack. However, he's VERY critical of the Dems too, because he's not wild about our party either. I can respect that.

In his own words when asked why he wasn't backing up the dem guest on his show once:
"Wait a minute, both parties are frightening, it's just that your party (dem) is a little less frightening than your party (rep) so..."

11. Exactly, it's not exclusively the Dems fault,
but there are certainly a few of them (including some running for President) who deserve to share in the blame.

We all knew that Bush and everyone else in his administration were lying about the threat of WMDs, and all we had to research was Google. The Dems in Congress had real intelligence briefings and access to much more info than we had. They knew he was lying just like we did. To me its very cynical to sit by and watch young men and women die needlessly and then act high and mighty when there is finally no risk in saying that which was known all along.

The heroes to me are the Dennis Kucinich's and Howard Dean's of the world, who called Bush on his lies when it was not popular to do so.

12. More importantly
We (DUers) need to quit being so damn sensitive. We all know Maher is going to attack Bush something awful in his new special (did you see the promo of him landing on the air craft carrier) however he is going to take his shots at the Dems as well. Do we throw the baby out with the bath water?

Also if you guys are so upset about this then you should stop listening to Greg Palast. As hard as he has been on Bush, he was also pretty rough on Clinton and Gore in the past and he may be rough on Democrats in the futere...it his FUCKING JOB! Our heroes are not above criticism and they deserve it at times. QUIT BEING SO DAMN SENSITIVE!!!!

9. Maher is a jerk
he may be funny sometimes but like the old adage..a broken clock is right two times a day.

He is a self-serving prick who is about one step from being a Dennis Miller fungus.

16. I never listened to Maher after he said
the 13 year old boy who had a baby with his very disturbed teacher was "in love" and everyone should just leave them to it.

10. Haven't we been saying that though?
At least the part about how they knew and did nothing? I disagree that they should shut up, but he did have at least that part right.

15. I totally agree
If I knew that * was telling lies from the comfort of my living room, the Dems knew it as well. Should they shut up? No, but they should be called on their hypocrisy.

13. I don't agree with him always, but he is funny
He gave Ann Coulter hell on one of his HBO episodes last spring. He may not be a democrat, but he is more liberal than your average libertarian. He gives everyone a hard time, and that's okay. At least his shows are not dumbed down for mass consumption, and he hasn't sold out to one party, like Miller did.

14. Political humorists have to offend somone all the time; if they're
neutral, they aren't a)intelligent enough; and/or b)funny.

He's right about the Dems knowing, wrong about shutting up about it.

If that offends you, how did you survive the Clinton years?
