4. Gee, perhaps because many are cultural conservatives
I'm sure that many in the military have an axe to grind with the current administration, but that doesn't mean they're ready to embrace a left-wing candidate, particularly someone like Dean who never served in the military.

7. Since when is Dean a "left-wing candidate"
He's in the center of most everything...a fiscal conservative...pro states rights...

And BTW - he didn't serve because the Army REJECTED him on medical grounds. Hell, at least he went down to the draft board. Unlike *, who was AWOL from the National Guard for crissakes!

5. I often wonder
why anyone, apart from the richest 10% of the nation, would vote for the Chimp.

All one needs to do is look at the record - across the spectrum of issues - to see why this has been the most destructive presidency in US history.

I don't think it's been more destructive than Pierce
but he's definetly in the Hoover area.

We need to look the the future though.

There are many demographics we need to consider to beat him, a big one of course being military families. Edwards or Kerry are the only ones I believe who can change a signifigant portion of the militaries minds about democrats. Obviously Kerry has the better military credentials on it's face, but Edwards relates much more to the lives of most of them and APPEARS to be closer to their ideogoly. Yeah Edwards is the fomer trial lawyer, but Kerry is Thurston Howell with medals

6. Because the military is much more supportive
of the decision to invade than most Americans. Even though alot of americans(about 20 percent) think that things aren't going well post-war, they continue to support the innitial decision in overwhelming numbers(70-75 percent) and the military, being hugely more republican/hawkish than most of America is probably closer to 90 percent supportive of the decision.
