2. Can you change some language on the petition?
Or is it too late?

"We, the undersigned call upon Air America Radio to give Guy James ( http://www.theguyjamesshow.com ) a job doing a regular weekly show on Air America. Guy James has a loyal Internet following, and a show already in production. Please, Air America, listen to Guy's archived shows and give him fair consideration for a permanent place in your schedule."

Instead of "a job" how about to "give Guy James an opportunity to do a weekly show on Air America"?

11. AAR
Wow, I'm glad to see this thread.

It gives me a chance to vent, too.

Jerry Springer is terrible. He puts on too much stuff that is like his TV show. In my opinion, the show should be about getting rid of neocon government, not about sex-related things that have no real political connection. He also gives air time to the assholes on the right, and he tries to reason with them in some naive belief that it will work ("breakin' it down, rappin', don't you know, bro"). Springer is a fool. One day a caller asked him why he was spending airtime on something about sex instead of politics, and Springer actually said, "I just did not want to spend the whole hour knocking Bush." Springer does not get the picture. He should be GONE! Pull the plug on him and get a real fighter in there.

Al Franken is more tolerable, but he keeps trying to do comedy bits on the show. They usually are terrible, and they work as distractions from the purpose. He also has the same bad habit as Springer. He gives air time to the wingnut assholes, including some regular character who comes on to defend and "interpret" Rush Limbaugh. If I wanted to listen to that vicious, dope-addicted gasbag, I would just tune him in. Al does much better in books and on TV. I have no radio experience, but even I know that on radio you need to keep in mind that people are only HEARING, not seeing, anything. You need to interject regular comments like, "We are talking with Senator Fatbottom from Delaware on the subject of ..." to inform new listeners of what is going on. But Al needs to go.

Now, on the postive side ...

Janeane Garafolo is great! The show suffers when she is not there. Nothing against Sam Seder. He carries on as best he can. Lately neither of them has been on the show consistently, which makes me wonder: Who in the hell is running this? I know that Janeane has a gig in Hollywood right now, but does Sam have to be off so much? Again, who is running this? "Best of" shows just do not work.

Randi Rhodes is wonderful. She is an unrelenting bulldog with her teeth sunk into the butts and limbs of the neocons.

I do not know Guy James, but if he would add something, I am all in favor of it!

14. He's very good and not a comedian pretending to be a talkshow host.
It's pretty much all politics all the time. But well done and not contrived.

19. I did it, and I forgot to mention something in my petition comment.
One important point in what makes Guy James so much more interesting to listen to than a lot of the new liberal show hosts, particularly the Sirius Left hosts, and some of the ones you'd know at Air America is that HE DOESN'T HAVE TO TALK ABOUT HIMSELF ALL THE TIME.

Guy talks about the things we have in common: concern about what's going on in our country! He talks about DEMOCRATIC stuff. I go completely ape trying to stick with programs while their hosts go ON and ON and ON and ON and ON about themselves, then decide things are getting too serious, they'd like to have some fun and shift away to things not even related to politics, like that goddawful Alex Bennett at Sirius Left. It's a spectatular crime against Democrats who bought Sirius equipment for home and car only to be screwed when they tossed Air America.

PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR DEMOCRATIC CONVERSATION. We've been DYING for it. That's what you're going to get with Guy James, and it's like a drink of cool water after days in the desert.

I forgot to point out in my comments on the petition and I hope maybe if anyone has the time, he/she will mention the fact that Guy James is evolved beyond the point he has to bore people with continual reference to himself, like some of the hosts you know.

Thank you.
