1. My guess is Kerry and Gephardt
will be busy attacking Dean and Clark. Reeks of desperation.

Unless I'm mistaken, they're debating Foreign Policy and since this is going to be Dean's percieved weakness- he'll want to appear "dominant".

7. Why Dean?
I know people here don't like Dean, but he has been low on the bash'o'meter compared to other campaigns. In addition, as a candidate in the lead, Dean will take "the high road," as all leading candidates in campaigns usually do. People usually bash to gain ground and juice up their own supporters.

I'm putting my money on Lieberman, who has been the loudest and most consistent basher.

8. They're going to go after Clark.
Lieberman has been here for two days attacking Clark; I have no doubt that Dean will jump on board, and Kerry as well. But Fighting Joe will likely lead the pack.

9. I doubt it.
Clark needs to threaten others in NH, Iowa, or SC to be attacked. IF Clark is attacked, *Edwards* will probably be the one to make a swipe. But since the debate is about foreign policy, I think this is unlikely.

I could be wrong, and the debate should be interesting nonetheless.

12. I forgot.
Iowa and New Hampshire are the most, in fact the only, states that count. Clinton did so well in those states in 1992, finishing a distant third in NH, and with 3% of the vote in Iowa that year, and Bush really kicked butt in NH in 2000. Yep, those states are key.

13. Bingo-
Pat Buchanan beat Papa Bush in NH in 92....

Dick Gephardt beat Mike Dukakis in Iowain 88....

Pat Robertson beat Papa Bush in Iowa in 88...

George Bush beat Ronald Reagan in Iowa in 80....

Seems like winning those states are bad omens....

14. Buchanan didn't win NH
He just managed to snag enough votes to embarrass incumbent Bush, who should've blown him out of the water.
