OMG! Evidence of homosexuality on HGTV and Animal Planet!

American Family Association's Tim Wildmon backed caller's warning of "evidence of homosexuality and lesbian people on programs like HGTV and Animal Planet"

During the October 11 broadcast of Today's Issues, a daily show on the Christian broadcasting network American Family Radio (AFR), host Tim Wildmon -- president of the American Family Association, which operates AFR -- agreed with a caller's claims that "you really, really, really have to watch what you are watching on TV" because "evidence of homosexuality and lesbian people" appears in programming on cable channels HGTV and Animal Planet. --------------

Heaven forbid that the Americans who live with their head up their ass are subjected to people who are not just like them. We wouldn't want them to learn about "them Ho-mo-sex-u-als" now would we?

The amount of ignorance and fear in this country today is amazing. I feel like I am living in the fifties...so many people are so scared of others who are not just like them...what a way to go through life.

It makes me sad.

1. "...living in the fifties"? I presume you mean
the SIXTEEN fifties. These people are not simply insane, they're more fucking crazy than shithouse rats.

conform to their narrow views of the world.

2. If HGTV wasn't gay-friendly
They would lose most of their featured designers.

3. I am laughing hysterically
what would decorating shows be without gay men?

Geez, they need to get real.

Don't let this freak you out...just because they are idiots enough to mention it doesn't mean anybody outside of a few loonies take it seriously. Remember the gay Teletubbie? They are just tightening the noose they put around their own neck.

Even Jesus wouldn't watch HGTV with straight interior decorators. And He is PERFECT. And I'll bet his living room is awesome.

8. Do what now?
:7  :silly: :wtf:

Memo to the Reverend: since at least one tenth of the population is gay, there must have been gay women doing something on Animal Planet at some point. But that's also true of any station. I wonder if Wildmon goes into homophobic rages every time he watches, for instance, the weather station? Does he count up to every tenth person and then point and start to scream?

Does he realize there are likely just as many gay people in, uh, every job everywhere?

Isn't Wildmon the guy who thought Mighty Mouse was symbolically doing coke when he was shown sniffing flowers?

Two words: "Baker Act."

32. I ought to send the good Rev a home movie...
... so he can see my two male dogs engaging in one of their favorite everyday hobbies --- being "intimate" with each others manly-man thang. If they tried getting that close to one of our females the girls would bite their noses off. On the other hand (ahem) I once had a brace of female Scotties who enthusiastically accommodated one another when they were in heat.

Homosexual behaviors are COMMON in the animal world. The only reason most folks aren't aware of that is because that knowledge has been willfully suppressed not only in the scientific community but even on networks dedicated to animal life. That's how entrenched homophobia is in our society.

11. Ummm....Animal Planet? WTF????
I am an avid and regular watcher of Animal Planet. I have been racking my brain for the last 5 minutes and I honestly can't think of anything I've ever seen on Animal Planet that had anything to do with gays, gay people, gay animals, gay anything.

These people are completely and totally insane. Seriously. They've gone off the deep end and they aren't even making an attempt to tread water. Animal Planet? Give me a break.

Now they might have a point about HGTV, though.

He has a wife and kids. Is very macho. :-)

By the way, I just love that guy. They might think he is gay because he is a sensitive guy. He could very well be a people psychologist.

16. I can't think of a thing either.
I watch it all the time. I did see, maybe on NG, or Discovery, tonight something about red garter snakes. It seems some males emit the female odor and lure other males into a mating ball and then slips away to get a better chance at the real female. Shocking, I tell you, just shocking!

Edited on Fri Oct-14-05 09:46 PM by Ladyhawk
I have no TV and no access to dish. Animal Planet and Comedy Central aren't even offered by the local cable company. I told them I wouldn't buy their news propaganda shows only to end up with a shitty package. Years ago they said they were going to offer more channels, but I checked recently and still no Animal Planet or Comedy Central. It's not worth the money.

On edit: they offer FOUR Faux channels but no Comedy Central or Animal Planet... :wtf:

And probably half the handlers!

36. Oh, yes, yes. I forgot about the
dog handlers. Noticed one fellow, especially, who probably was gay, but he seemed to keep it pretty much to himself - at least as much as he could. :-)

Better do something about those dog shows. They'll be the downfall of heterosexuality and destroy the American family as we know it.

24. Three questions:
1) Who is Tim Wildmon?

2) Why does anybody care what he and his bogus organization has to say?

3) Why is the liberal media addicted to repeating what these idiots have to say?

It's getting to the point where the "shocked and offended" reaction is pissing me off almost as much as the idiots who spew this nonsense.
