So, Are Indictments Pretty Much Guaranteed For Next Week?
Presuming the Grand Jury will come back with true indictments wouldn't the timing be right for sometime middle of next week? That would leave a couple of days at the end for cleanup paperwork that I am sure has to be done. Archiving and such as well I suppose, so the actual indictments should predate the end of the Grand Jury's session by a few days, shouldn't it? Anyone know much about the housekeeping and process details as far as timing goes?

3. You could say that again, look at the last 5 years in the twilight zone
starting with the 2000&2004 thefts - I mean elections

2. An extension has been requested so
it's up in the air whether we will see indictments at the end of the month or not.

Apparently he is "planning on asking" for an extension. Sorry for the mixup.

"Was Miller’s sudden eagerness to find a get-out-of-jail excuse prompted by Fitzgerald’s planning to ask for an extension of the grand jury?"

There were a few other articles all only hinting that he "may" ask for an extension...

11. Damn, I hope you're wrong or you misunderstood or something
The tension is really getting to me just waiting to see if the hammer's gonna drop. Can you imagine what Rove, Libby, Bush, Cheney, Bolton etc are going through?

Felonies are a real bitch.

16. The date of that story is Sept. 30. I haven't seen anything since then
suggesting Fitzgerald might seek an extension.

22. When was an extension requested and for how long?
Gads! That could be truly serious. In the absence of an extension, I would not be looking for the indictments until a week from Thursday at the soonest.

7. Relax
The only time we'll know anything - anything - is when Fitzgerald announces it.

Until then, take up a hobby or something. Because no one knows anything.

9. Can't believe Fitz did all this for nothing.
If B** could have stopped or controlled this, none of them would have testified.

Someone's gonna get it. This was not an academic exercise.

If they were just doing this for theater, they'd have leaked some stuff to prepare us for the empty bombshell. That's how they work. This is not the case. This is real.

Someone's gonna have to resign in disgrace.

10. an extension is a GOOD thing
It means that new paths are being followed, not that the ones already traveled have yielded no fruit.

Watergate was extended when they got the go ahead to expand the inquiry..

13. Actually, you're likely correct here....I desperately want it to be over
but most likely an extension would be in all our best interests. Wouldn't it be great if the chain of conspiracy led all the way to Cheney-even if its just as an "un-indicted co-conspirator". It would be another mark of shame that could never be removed from this administration.

19. An already inept and cripled admin. would be even more
paralyzed by a long instensive court process in regards to severe indictments involving most of the top brass.

Sounds like heaven to me. :)

I'm afraid that until the lethal dose from a prison guard does its job, it's not over.

18. Isakoff said as much on Hairball. Next week is the week.
He said he wouldn't wait longer, in case too many members of the grand jury were missing to make a quarum.

So, we won't have to wait long, now.

I would give a limb to be on that grand jury. Let's hope they're ready to string up some repubs. If they're mostly black and female, we have hope. We definitely have hope. They believe in evil, and know it when they see it.

21. Ya know what I THINK?
Fitzgerald is stalling to let the "squirm factor" take effect. . .you may find waiting and waiting and waiting annoying but can you imagine how the really GUILTY feel as they wait and wait. . .someone's bound to make a false start to save their neck with a plea bargain.

Fitz is giving "them" enough rope to hang themselves. . .he's quite a mastermind I think!

:toast:
