Families of soldiers killed in Iraq stage vigil outside No 10
William Green

Political Correspondent

FAMILIES of soldiers killed in Iraq will camp outside Downing Street today to protest against being denied legal aid for their battle to hold Tony Blair to account for the war.

Peter Brierley, of Batley, whose son Shaun died in a Land Rover crash while on duty in Kuwait in March 2003, will be protesting with 22-year-old daughter Helen in a camp inspired by an American campaigner.

Cindy Sheehan set up Camp Casey outside US President George W Bush's Texas ranch when her son Casey was killed in Iraq but he and the Prime Minister have refused to meet the bereaved families.

The UK camp will also be manned by relatives of roadside bombing victims Gordon Gentle, who was killed in Basra in June, 2004 and Phillip Hewett, who died in al-Amarah in July this year.

11. Face it, if it hadn't been for the hot Texas dust getting stuck in their
craws, the MSM wouldn't have covered C. Sheehan in the US. You don't honestly expect they'd go all the way to Britain to cover this, do you?

19. Wouldn't you know it? According to a small item
in one of the UK dailies yesterday, it's strongly rumoured that Blair will slip into a nice position with the Carlyle Group, on a very fat fee.
