O'Reilly getting BOOOOOOOOOOOED!
Jon asks if he is still boycotting France.

O'Reilly: Yes. Why are you booing? "Ohh, BOOO!" Go drink your wine you pinheads!

Audience: BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

23. Well...
I don't think Bill won any converts with his performance. He came off as petty at best.

3. I couldn't believe it.........
........when he tried to say France is our enemy!! France is not our enemy, you nitwit!! They simply didn't agree with us..........

These people have such a narrow view of the world. Apparently if you don't vote to declare a war based on lousy intelligence.........that makes them our enemy!!

What a ridiculous thing to say!

5. I think it's some kind of wing-nut mental disorder, my brother hates the
French too, although he has never quite articulated why. Off course I tend to remind him that without France, we could still be a British colony, doesn't help, but it's fun to piss him off!!!

such around here much!!!

Cheers!!!

Except it wasn't "lousy intelligence" it was imperialistic Bush/Cheney demanding it, so they could invade & steal a sovereign nations resources, (Iraq) while hoping to show, they had the whole world's backing...When France of course said "fuck you"...

We get clowns like O'fuckhead, still trying to justifying a dead duck, for the non thinking robots, who are still wondering (and waiting to know) if it's OK to start eating french fries again!

7. O'Reilly got his clock cleaned
He looked for all the world like a class A imbecile.

What's funny is that he was hawking a book for KIDS! Who in their right mind would buy a childrens book written by a guy who yells at the audience and insults the interview host by calling him a pinhead?!? It's like hiring the nasty old man on the corner as a baby-sitter!

It was ridiculous and hysterical. Stewart mastered O'Reilly by letting him be himself, and disputing him only on the laughable notion that France - France! - was our enemy. The kicker was the closing line - "...the O'Reilly Factor (pregnant pause and head-shake of disbelief from Stewart)...for kids." Perfect.

10. Gawd, what a dork he is.
I am really glad that I have never watched any of his shows (and hence cannot "get" Colbert)

He should stop taking himself so seriously.

Jon was great. Really had to balance being semi serious with his guest, not offending him, while not becoming serious himself.

12. "WE SAVED THEIR ASS IN WW2!"
Jesus H. Christ... why did John have to say "True." Then not rebut him on that.

WHY O WHY didn't ABC keep him in the Falklands war where he had a chance to have his jaw blown off?

15. We did not save them so that they should be beholden to us
for the rest of their lives.

We should not keep holding this sword over their heads for ever.

18. Right. The French are not our enemy.
They probably wish we'd display a little more culture, but WMD's I don't think they got room for with the wine.

25. Aren't the French fighting alongside the U.S. in Afghanistan?
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 01:44 AM by aint_no_life_nowhere
I think a French soldier died just a few days ago in Afghanistan. And the French fought alongside the U.S. in Korea as part of the UN contingent (French Batallion received 3 U.S. Presidential Distinguished Unit Citations).

I don't understand why the French can't have a difference of opinion on one invasion and refuse to send their troops into a very complex and potentially explosive situation without being called our enemy. And I also thought O'Reilly said he would now distrust the Bush Administration for lying us into war after no WMD were found. If he does that, then how can he continue saying the French were wrong?

(on edit - I'm not saying YOU are calling the French our enemy. But O'Reilly certainly seems to be saying that)

22. Yeah Bill was there on the front lines
I'm sure he even personally wrestled Hitler to the ground and um...maybe we should just call in and let him tell us all about it himself. I'm sure he has some great stories of his personal heroism during WW2...
