The people who name the hurricanes have committed a grave crime against my brain (such as it is). They have selected as a name for a tropical cyclone a name that was also used by a classic retro 'toon, The Flintstones.

And the bad Flintstones jokes have been defiling the airwaves and Internets all day. I must have heard close to a dozen on the radio in the last 24 hours alone.

Naming a 'cane after Rita Cosby was bad enough. And Katrina Leskanich's old band has been out of favor long enough to keep that gag from being used more than once or twice.

But this Flintstones crap has GOT to STOP ... or Dr. Pigwidgeon may turn into MR. HOGG!
