Fitz needs the next week for all of the plea bargain shoppers to negotiate their best deals. Heard this morning on the tube that Fitz also was not going to issue a *report* which indicates there are indictments potentially planned. That had to put the White House and the plea shoppers lawyers on notice too.

The aide "assisting" at this time would have to be in a position to know. Matalin would not be a bad guess. My thought is it is one of the WHIG echelon. Loving the fact they are turning on each other out of self-preservation!

I'm not sure what to make of this not issuing a report. I'm cautiously optimistic that it means he'll bring down a couple of administration assholes, but I'm kind of afraid that he might just close up shop so Junior and Crash-cart can happily pretend nothing has happened again.

When I read the article this morning in the NYTimes, I got nervous. It seems possible that Fitz will just close up shop with nothing. I still think indictments are coming but it's not a sure thing.

professional. He has ice water in his veins and knows how to play legal jujitsu! At the maximum point of pressure on the subjects/targets little things are let out that force hands of the plea bargain shoppers. Fitz will announce findings in DC. No report - code for I am SO not done with you people... The date the Grand jury ends and the timeline for people to make deals. Fitz is masterful at not tipping his hand or expounding in ANY way what evidence he has. beautifully played and we have more Fitzmas episodes ahead!

NEVER play poker with Patrick Fitzgerald. You'd walk away from the table wearing a barrel. No prosecutor as experienced as he is would pursue an investigation for this long and with this vigor, for no good reason. He's used to dealing with mobsters and making them squeal. BFEE is no different.

And I mean always, there are copy edit issues that come up that have to come back to the writers and then back up through the editors, because in some cases, the direct quote or something can only be changed by the writers... like today, just happened, piece came back down, had to rewrite a part, then back up to editor. That is what is taking so long, in the mean time, you guys are left hanging. And what sucks worse is watching conversations going on for weeks here and not being able to speak to them because I am on the story. Now having to wait to tell you guys is no fun either. For me, the pleasure of the work is that it provides information and until that information is provided, I sit in limbo.

We will be surprised together, sort of, on some levels.

I must now go and evacuate Florida, which I should have been working on hours ago, but stopped to rewrite.
