(Houston Chronicle)

U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay's chief lawyer says he has no evidence that Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle participated in grand jury deliberations, despite having made that allegation in motions to dismiss DeLay's indictments.

So why are they putting on such a big, deceitful show? Here's one idea...

http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/content/metro/stories/10/19delay.html">Is DeLay publicity part of broader strategy?
(Austin American-Statesman)

A day after it was disclosed that U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay had discussed trying to avoid a felony indictment, lawyers questioned whether DeLay lawyer Dick DeGuerin had unleashed unwanted publicity - or was playing the system to move his client's trial out of Austin, where jurors could be tainted by all that publicity.

(...)

DeLay may want to avoid a trial in Austin, not only because it's one of the more liberal cities in Texas, but also because his leading role in splitting Travis County into three congressional districts in 2003 drew harsh criticism from Democrats.

1. without doubt he's trying to taint the jury and get the trial moved.
and I don't see how what was done is legal.

3. Link didn't work for me.
My take on it though, is that Delay is trying whatever tactics he can to beat the rap. Can't really say that I blame him for that. This is not to say that I think he is innocent, just that if I were up for a felony charge, especially if I were guilty, I would certainly attack the prosecutor's integrity if I thought it could possibly do any good. Certainly, you know he would attack mine.

5. Now I understand
why Dicklay and his gang of crooks ,are running a smear commercial (Comparing Ronnie Earle to a Barking Dog), Looks as though he is corrupting the jury pool for this area in advance. The Commercial is only ran in the Surrounding counties. I would say it runs on all network televisions, at least 3 times an hour. Isn't that called Jury Tampering?
