10. Many of us were thinking . . . .
"If it is too good to be true, something is wrong . . . ."

The fact that not enough Americans thought that to make a difference in the outcome is corroborated by the number of emails all of us get from strangers trying to transfer millions of dollars to U.S. accounts with your assistance.

7. For "regime change" over 75% Americans said HELL NO.
For "humanitarian" over 80% Americans said HELL NO.

Even for "WMD" a slim majority said HELL NO.

"LESS THAN 50 YEARS"; rightwingnuts, you and your KIDS, your GRANDKIDS need to ENLIST.

They said this war would be over in under a year.

It was NEVER about REGIME change. It was all about WMDs!

18. Rice and Powell Say that a Disarmed Saddam Could Stay in Power
That was then.

That was a total lie.

Rice: "The goal here is to disarm Saddam Hussein"

"All we‘re interested in is getting rid of those weapons of mass destruction."

http://www.intelmessages.org/Messages/National_Security/wwwboard/messages/2159.html

That was a lie.

Now Americans will die in Iraq for "LESS THAN 50 YEARS".

16. It does not surprise me that republicans think long term about war
Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 12:55 PM by SoCalDem
They plotted the takeover of America for about 35 years. That's what republicans do best...longterm planning...They are patient. Democrats think in terms of today and tomorrow, the next election. That's why we have a hard time winning lately..

Can you even imagine people accepting a democrat's "vision" of a 50-year war, and the deaths and injuries that accompany such a war??But for some odd reason, those words just roll off the tongues of republicans as easily as if they were ordering lunch from the deli.... "I'll have a pastrami on rye..oh.. and a side order of Shock & Awe cluster bombs.....and a diet coke..

We keep it in perspective. The perspective of honesty.
No permanent bases my ass. We know what they're up to. We knew they were lying. What the fuck is wrong with our Senators. Only a dozen know what's really going on. Or are willing to admit it.

21. I want 15 mins w Rice. I have time-dated posts from Nov 2002
where I said Iraq DOES NOT have any "wmd", that the USAF said the "drones" were total bullshit for recon only; I said the DoE experts laugh at the aluminum tubes bullshit.

I have time-dated posts in January 2003 calling BULLSHIT to bush's SOTUA and his bullshit "Niger" crap.

HOW COME *I* KNEW???

HOW COME Republican Ron Paul knew and READ OUT that he knew it was BULLSHIT on the House floor in October 2002?

HELL YES WE KNEW.

Yet Condi and bushCabal claim they DIDN'T know??? Then they're too damn STUPID to be doing anything but pushing mops.

In 1990, I walked into the office and said, "No blood for oil.". And I felt guilty as hell. But deep down I knew.

It's my firm belief that they bullied us into being affraid. And it was a slow process. Part of it was the drug war. Their ability to run rampant. To hang from helicopters by ropes, in black suits, with M-16's, terrorizing people in rural areas. They caged us with their bully tactics. And they got there by virtue of people who had kids and who had jobs, and who didn't have the time to pay attention. They just said no, and believed the gov't was doing things in the best interests of the people. Seat belts, bullshit. Helmet laws, bullshit. It seems absolutely valid at first sight. Until one realizes the reality of it. It's an area where even liberals are still towing the line. Even if it were valid, it all serves to ratched down the very freedoms and liberties that make this country what it was intended to be.

edit- Shame on me. You deserve a huge amount of credit for speaking out when you did. You're brave.

That's the one. Even the masters of PSYOPS, or whatever the new term is, know that's the most effective way to go. Less danger of a nasty backlash when the lies eventually spin out, too.

32. And some actually worry that Ms. Rice may win votes for the presidency!
What sort of nuts do they think people are? No more guaranteed edu for those without even half a chance in this nation! No more poor kids actually excelling with tech degrees after their stint in the service! No more pride and honor gained by those seldom deemed worthy of respect! No more opportunity to actually succeed by joining our military, in a country with every card stacked against achieving any "American dream"!

NO!

It'll be shrapnel to the head, exploding roadkill blasting your humvee to hell and back, eyeballs hanging out of faces; picking up the pieces of your best buds, off of some desert sands, searching for limbs and extremities severed in a flashing fireball; lining up young teens in your rifle sights, youths not a lot different than yourself, furious you've brought your tanks to their country, rumbling up and down THEIR streets to "keep order"; coffins, hundreds more coffins, for the innocent pawns in this game that Condi wants us to play!

She won't say that we WON'T be invading Iran! She won't say that it's out of the question that Syria might be a target for future attacks! She won't say that we're looking at DECADES of an unwinnable scheme to drum up business for USA corporate assholes! She won't say that she expects the millions of working class youth in our country to do that dirty work for HER and her pals who uphold the PNAC dream of turning the entire WORLD into their castle! And the number one thing she will NEVER say is...guess what...you are all expendable, tools to be used up as necessary, suckered into dying for their dreams of conquest, and quieted if you disagree!
