Cindy Sheehan saying she may be in jail until January
She's on the Stacy Taylor show. She was arrested last night for demonstrating without a permit, and she'll be back tonight at the White House gates and may be arrested again. She said that if she is, she could be jailed until her court date in January. The reason is that when she was first arrested she was fined but she hasn't paid the fine. She won't because she's taking it to trial in January and will plead not guilty. She said because tonight could be her third arrest, she would have to stay in jail until her trial date.

She also said that when she went to Arlington cemetery with other Gold Star families, she and others were forbidden to bring photos of their fallen loved ones to place on the graves because that would be a political statement. She said that that is part of the Bush plan to keep the fallen out of sight, out of mind.

2. Ah, smart move, put a grieving gold star mother in jail over Christmas!
Amazing how they are following the woman everywhere, even to her graveside visits.

I have been all over Arlington cemetery over the course of many years, and you'd be hard put to find anyone in charge there who was fussing over the graves in that fashion. You see mementos scattered here and there all the time. They do go though and gather them up on a regular basis (rather like they do at the Vietnam memorial) but I have never heard of such a ham-handed reaction to the grief of a loved one of the fallen. It is targeted harassment, and it is disgraceful!

3. No pictures of the dead in Arlington? Political statement?
I wonder if there have ever been photos allowed there? Arlington is a statement in itself, people that go there are pretty solemn, not a subtle experience.

4. She will silence herself with another arrest.
And missout on the chance to spoil W's Christmas.
