Miers gone - Will Bush nominate Gonzales to stick it to the conservatives?
You know Bush is pissed. He has to be. And we know he will never admit that he screwed up - it has to be the fault of somebody else. In this case it is the conservatives he is going to be pissed at and what better way to stick it to them than to nominate Gonzales? They can't say Gonzales is not qualified.

Miers and Iraq and Plame indictments, Oh my! Is there any popcorn left?

1. 2006 is an election year, remember
One of the reasons that the rethugs in the senate gave Bush the bad news that they wouldn't support Miers is because they have an election year coming up and don't want to piss off their base. I don't see the Chimp risking even mild discontent the next go round.
